Kevin,
I see your '88 is a convertible.
You list your '90 as an RS/Z28. Is it a Z/28 clone?
Phoenix,
If you're asking about my engine, it's a 305 and it will be for sale once I get a 350.

That was my first P.W. ever. It was the first thing I said out loud when I opened the thread. As for the 90 it's really an RS but I have badged it as a Z28. It has everything a Z would have gotten from the factory, top to bottom. So yes it is a clone. I am on my 17th thirdgen now and think I will keep the 3 I have left. I think the mod's should change my screenname to "THE CLONER"! I buy thirds even when I don't need em.

where did you get the clips for the plug wires and how did you mount them. also, could you take a pic of the driver's side about the same angle of pic. 3?

Here's one of the driver's side:

And a couple without the air cleaner:

The spark plug wires are held in wire looms that bolt directly to the valve covers.

so what are you using on the driver's side valve cover "breather hole"? i see you have another filter on the pass. side one, but what did you do to the driver's side one? i'm asking because i'm thinking of putting an open air in mine.

The filter on the passenger's side draws in fresh air. On the driver's side you'll find the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve that is connected to a vaccum port on the carb. The rear hole on the driver's side holds an oil filler cap.

ok, so just to clear things up a abit for me, is the piece that goes straight across to the carb the PCV? or is it the hose that kind of bends around to an area on the front of the valve cover. i'm just curious.
and i think i was confused earlier because your oil filler cap is in the oppsite position as mine...

The PCV valve fits into into a rubber grommet in the valve cover itself. In my case it is in the front position on the driver's side valve cover. I have run a hose from the PCV valve straight to the front of the carb as seen in this photo:

hehe...i can't stop looking at pics of your setup. one more question though, obviously they are custom valve covers, but does anybody sell valve covers that the looms holders bolt onto? i was looking around and couldn't really find anything. am i missing something?

In my case the wire looms are botled to the top of the valve covers with the same bolts that hold the valve covers to the heads. You can clearly see the mounting bracket in this photo. These are center bolt valve covers that came of 87 and later F bodys.

If your Camaro is an 84 and has the original engine, your valve covers will have a perimeter bolt patern instead of a center bolt patern.
You can find billet aluminum wire looms to fit perimeter bolt valve covers from companys like Billet Specialties and many others. I'd do a search here on thirdgen for some brand names to look into. I'd also visit the websites of summit racing and Jegs. They carry just about every thing.

thanks. did you have to use longer bolts because of the space the looms take up? and i figured out the reason that my vc looked different was because it was put on backwards by the previous owner...

I've owned the car since 2000. I've been modifying it a little at a time since then.
When I bought the car it was complete stock and only had about 35,000 miles on it. It had never been driven in the winter and rarely if ever driven in the rain. I'm fortunate in that it's not my daily driver and it is stored with a cover over it all winter.
A little bit of Simple Green degreaser and some plastic brushes will do wonders for a dirty engine.
I wipe it down under the hood with diluted spray wax every time I wash the car so the dirt doesn't really get a chance to build up.
The cool thing is that the undercarriage is almost as clean as the sheetmetal or the interior.
