Engine cleaner

You all know how when you buy an older used car at a dealer and the engine is brand new looking and all shiny? What is it that they use or do that brings an old engine back to life looking like that? Thanks guys

Usually they pressure wash it and spray it down with silicone. looks good until you drive it a day or so. Then you have a nasty dirt magnet mess after that.

Yup I used to work at an auto auction detailing the cars and all we would do is hit the engine bay with some tire shine.

Simple Green and a tooth brush worked the best for me, unless you want to pay to have it steam cleaned.

Family dollar,Dollar General I think you can get it at walmart too.Just use the cheap oven cleaner that comes in a yellow can.Don't leave it on aluminum for to long or it turns it dark grey.Mainly use the oven cleaner on the iron or steel parts.

should work just fine, just cover up anything electrical like alt, dizzy etc...
spray a heavy coat of Simple green or mean green and let it sit for about a minute then with a good spray hose or pressure washer and rinse it off.

For a clean engine bay all you need is:

Simple Green
Armor All
power sprayer
squirt bottle to put the armor all/Simple Green in

*and a tooth brush if you want to get into the nitty gritty stuff
