3rd Gen Firebird with Grand Prix front end?
3rd Gen Firebird with Grand Prix front end?
Has anybody done this (or thought about this) before? How cool it would be to take this front end (from a fifth gen Grand Prix SE) and stick it on a 3rd gen Firebird?:

My brother said he did a 'shop of that when he was in Autos (a while ago), but now he can't find it.

No, not cool.
If you like that front end, buy one of those cars. They are cheap enough.
Most hybrids end up looking...bad.

See, I was thinking that with that front end, and a few other exterior modifications, you could turn the 3rd gen Firebird into a more modern 1978 Firebird (which I think looks awesome).

Meh... I think if you really wanted to do that, you would be better off starting with an older firebird front clip and modifying it. Or starting with an entire 2nd gen and doing your body mods right to it.
Year one has a bandit trans am that has an updated sort of look to it. They pulled it off nicely...but then again when you have the money and labor skill that year one has, you can do anything.

There is a reason I never thought of doing such a thing.
Dang, that is just wrong.
Sure, it would be different.
But the kind of different that I would never want to do to any of my cars.
2nd generation cars are still pretty affordable.
And once in a blue moon you can still find a 1st gen that needs restoration, which is being sold at a fair price.

The "Members Rides" section is for posting pictures of your car, not for asking general A&D questions. Please post those on the main A&D board. I have moved this thread for you.

Sorry, I didn't notice the "Members Rides" headline, I thought that was just a subforum to the Detailing forum.
I take it nobody likes my idea...lol

Ive seen it done a Fiero and it looked bad ***, dont know about a 3rd gen though, as much as I hate my pop-up headlights...which dont pop-up.
This probably wont work since Pennocks usually wont allow it but I'll give it a shot.

Holy crap it worked.
Here's a good straight on shot. Do a photoshop for yourself.

I just did, and Im ashamed to say...actually I wont even say it.
Aint that a BITCH, it was working at first!! Sometimes I hate Pennocks, who cares if you post a pic that was posted there!
Ugh...if you wanna see the car go to this thread

I don't think that would look good by any stretch of the imagination.

The car on that Fiero site looks like an angry Munchkin.
If you like the Grand Prix front, buy a Grand Prix.
I understand modding a thirdgen, but why Frankenstein it?
But yes, more power to you to do what you want with your own car.
