Kat, that is a STOUT 355. Nice work on the engine and it appears you've got the tune pretty close as well...

Re: GM HIGH TECH is looking for YOU!!
there is a lot of nice cars on here that could easily be in the mag. i don't know why they would need more to choose from. and not putting a car in the mag cause it has a carb is absolutely bull. yea, i got a carb.

Re: GM HIGH TECH is looking for YOU!!
GM high tech only specifically showcases "Fuel injected" GM performance vehicles.
GM performance mag and / or Chevy high performance magazine showcases high performance GM vehicles of the carb'd variety. If you are carb'd, then those are the magazines you should shoot for.
GM high tech will not feature any carb'd vehicle.

Re: GM HIGH TECH is looking for YOU!!
The magazine in question here is GM High Tech Performance. The magazine is ALL ABOUT later model fuel injected GM cars. It's not a bash on your car, they are just choosing to focus on EFI cars. Carburated cars are not what their magazine covers, period. The editors can cover whatever they want, it's their magazine so they get to make the rules, that doesnt make it "bull" that they won't cover your car. If you think your car is magazine worthy, then contact the multitude of other car mags that cover carb'd cars.

You are the first person I've seen in my entire life run the Random Tech catback, and I'm not sure why that is; they apparently make great cats, and their system is 3" mandrel bent stainless with straight tailpipes (no tips) that are 45* cut--all business, nothing flashy.
How do you like this catback?? For years I was set on it, but NOBODY runs it and I'm curious what the reason for that is.

Re: GM HIGH TECH is looking for YOU!!
Cool!
Well, here is my '91 GTA that I bought in '99 stock. I've done most the work myself and there's a cool story with the car.
Basic mod list: 402ci LS2, th350, moser 9", cage, suspension, LS1 brakes, the list goes on and on. It was one of the first LS1 3rd gens back in '05 with a H/C 346/T56/9" setup. 2nd set of Hawk's stainless works longtubes... ok, I'll stop now.
It runs 9.81 @ 138 on nitrous, full weight 3600lbs, 93 octane, full exhaust, DOT tires... STREET car.
Jake Amatisto from Promedia and another gentleman did a full photo shoot of the car at the LSX Shootout in St. Louis back in October 2010. Haven't heard anything from them yet, they were talking about a writeup in FSC, but they said others would see the pictures so who knows.

Re: GM HIGH TECH is looking for YOU!!
Real sad story behind this one. The owner died from a heart attack shoveling snow a few years ago. He had a son who owned a mustang and the two had a great bond. I keep it in my garage. It has just about every mod you could do from the 90's (paxton , edelbrock heads , new 350block, etc). It needs a tune bad as that was the last step needed before the owner suddenly died. More to the story if the mags wanted to run with this.
I keep it with the stock 89 rims on it unlike this picture of it. Again it just sits in a storage garage.

As for why no one runs it. I dunno. I like it cause it quiets the car just enough without making it too loud. When going down I95 at 80 there isn't a drone at all with it.

Re: GM HIGH TECH is looking for YOU!!
I wouldn't want to do an article on it, it isn't a show car its a driver but it would be cool to get in as a readers ride or something, I do have a youtube video of it running in the garage too...has too many mods to list really and right now its apart for the winter and getting a repaint in the spring
