Mix-matching ground effects...I need some opinions please!

First off, let me say that I have added another camaro to my collection. I just purchased an 87 IROC rolling shell for $400. Car seems pretty good with some minor rust spots on the roof and drivers side a pillar. I bought it because my other 88 camaro roof is totally rusting on both sides, and both a-pillars are rusted as well. My plan is to transfer all the parts to the IROC. Anyways, here is my dilemma. I converted my 88 camaro to the 91-92 aero style ground effects with the high rise spoiler. The IROC has the regular ground effects and they are growing on me but I like the way that the 91-92 style rear bumper flares out at the bottom...to me it makes the rear end of the car seem lower and fuller than the regular rear bumper. Call me crazy, but that's what it seems like to me. Now, let's just say that I use the 91-92 style rear bumper on the 87 IROC...in order to make it flow I would also have to use the ground effect pieces that go behind the rear tires on the lower quarter panels. With that being said, if I install just the rear bumper and ground effect pieces, but leave the non-aero rocker panels/door cladding/front chin spoiler would it look wierd? Anyone do this or have pictures? Thanks for any opinions on this.

I have a similar plan for my 86. I've got 91-92 rear and sides, but I have an 84 iroc front lip, the one with the holes. I don't like how far out and low the 91-92 front sits.

I think it would look a little weird. The 91-92 stuff flares out at the bottom all the way around the car, and in a very swooping style. The 85-90 stuff doesn't flare and it has sharp angles at the bottom. You can almost get away with 91-92 front gfx and 85-90 around the rest of the car, but it still looks a little off. If you look at biddaves' car from above you can see how the 91-92 gfx roll under from their widest point right up the front tire, and then the side ground fx just come down to a point and angle under. The difference at the rear of the car is going to be a lot more obvious, especially from the front looking towards the back of the car.

But Im a stickler for some weird things. I even think IROC wheels look "off" on 91-92 cars because of the ground fx.

Re: Mix-matching ground effects...I need some opinions please!

I really want to say that the side pieces right behind the rear wheels are the same from 85-92. Dont quote me on that, but when I had my Iroc next to my 91 Z, they both looked the same. Now the bumper is different. But just the side pieces might be the same.

As for as rocker/front ground FX, I'm pretty sure if you mix matched with any combination, only true thirdgen owners will notice. Epecially if you just change the rear bumper/quarter pieces.

EDIT: I just found a picture of them side by side. It does look like even the rear quarter pieces roll underneath the car on the 91Z. The iroc seems to have a sharper edge. Again, if you swap both the rear bumber and rear side peices, I think it would look fine.
