This is a Nomination Thread (including for this month self-nominations) for cars that will compete for this month's Car of the Month honor. The most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a Voting Thread within a couple weeks.

You can either nominate your own car, somebody else's car, or second a nomination (but not both). Cars must have a second nomination in order to make it to the Voting Thread.

Nomination Guidelines including Self-Nominations for this month's category

• Nominations must be of high quality, finished state, and in working order. No unrealistic, overly processed images. Please accompany the nomination with,
  • a single large, high quality photo
  • name of TGO member (with proper caps and spaces)
  • year, make, and model of car

I sure wish I could say that I do but sadly I don't. I have got the new motor built and ready to put in but its just too cold in the garage to get motivated. My goal is to have the car put back together around April. So keep me in mind around then!

I will help get this going... His beautiful, boosted, and plenty fast Pontiac has been nominated before, but hasn't yet made the COTM winner's list but certainly I believe is very worthy of it. He is truly dedicated to getting the most out of his third gen and I think he enjoys modding his ride as much as driving it, and I like that!

Personally, I'm not familiar enough with most of the 3rdgens on TGO, and that might be the case for many members, so it might not be a bad idea for boosted owners to self-nominate.

Thanks for your suggestion... I had thought about this originally, but thought boosted cars would be well enough known to have a good standard nomination rules turn-out. I will take this as a lesson for future special categories that self-nomination should also be allowed from the start.

Therefore with a great suggestion from LAFireboyd, we will open up this month's nomination thread to self-nominations as well! We will keep the nomination thread open until Friday 2/19 and then give a week plus for final voting

 

I will second the nomination for Bob88GTA, I can't recall a TTA on here in awhile and that one is a beauty.

 

I had a member PM me about this months COTM and wanted to include my car, so I'll post it up. 86 Camaro, Procharged LS, Holley EFI, RC Components wheels, stock appearing but weighing about 2850lbs. It's running, but I'm so particular about keeping things clean, it's still needs a few items addressed before I start cruising it.

I'll second indebt and his beautiful 86 IROC. The intake tubing, alone, is a work-of-art.

I scoured the Power Adder forum to get an idea of who might have nice boosted 3rdgens, but most of those cars are either in-progress or in-dreams, so not much qualifies yet. As for all of the beautiful 3rdgens on TGO, their exterior pictures don't show and tell us what's under the hood, so I'm glad this became a self-nomination COTM. Good that indebt got the word. Hope more will, too.

 

Thank you. I know theres a bunch of nice boosted cars out there by thirdgen.org members especially on my FB groups. Also know that not as many people frequent the forums. Maybe I'll throw a word out on my ****** Militia group and direct some members back here, even if it means getting outvoted lol

I would like to nominate LsxMatt and his blue 1992 Camaro. I don't know much about all of the modifications, but it is a well built car. Hopefully he can fill in more.

You are correct, LsxMatt and his beautiful camaro already won in March of 2018 (note that in the first post of every nomination thread I attach a link to a running list of past winners that is easy to double check).

To keep this nomination thread clean with only eligible cars for nomination I have deleted the two posts for his nomination/second.

However, one note of interest is that LsxMatt's camaro when he won in March 2018 was NA, I did quickly look and didn't see any threads started by him that showed after March of 2018 he has now added boost to his 1986 Camaro (he is currently working on a GEN V LT swap project).

Seems that boost is in his thought process for the future...

Anyways if LsxMatt has added boost we could then certainly add him back for this nomination as that would be a different nomination compared to why he was voted in for COTM previously.

 

gotcha, I knew I wasn't too far off when i remembered him winning. However, I do know that he has a LSA style blower on his 86 camaro. I follow him on youtube and he has had the blower for a while now. So, I guess that re-allows him to be nominated, which is a good thing! Sorry about all the confusion. Again, he deserves a nomination so it can either come from me, or from the other member(s) who originally posted to nominate him.


Back tow hat i wrote a few days ago, I was really hoping someone here knew of somebody who had a massive blower out of the hood. I know that car for 15 years back that was famous on youtube did, but I don't know if it I still around. It was a red and silver color combination and had a polished blower. I think it had some airbrushed writing on the back of it saying "Flirtin with Disaster". It was your typical late 1990s Pro Street style build

I also sent a note to LsxMatt to clarify, but with your reference to YouTube, I did a search and found the video and confirmed he has an LSA blower now installed and running, so that clearly now makes it different than the prior award and his IROC a good nomination for this thread. By the super special capabilities I have as the COTM Editor(!!!), I restored the nomination and second that Whitebird75 and indebt made for LsxMatt.

 

Thanks for the nominations again guys! So yes last time the car was N/A with a stock bottom end 5.3. I’m fine with staying in the nomination thread to give everyone updates because my sig is extremely out of date, but I don’t really want to win over someone else who hasn’t yet. Has anything like this ever happened before?

Anyway yeah I blew up the 5.3 at the track when I bent all my rods on the 2 step after putting in an lsa blower. The 5.3 is gone and I built a forged 6.0 and swapped the cam, heads, more boost, etc. I’m hoping to grab a high 9 with it eventually. If you guys want me to stay in the running, I’ll post more pics and the details required. Thanks again for the nomination for a 2nd cotm. I never thought I’d even get one when I started putting this car together back in 2014!

 

LsxMatt, thanks for posting updates of your beautiful now boosted camaro, it certainly is setting another level of excellence since your well deserved appearance as March 2018 COTM... we all appreciate seeing great work and it clearly is that... I am sure we would all like to see more updates in your build thread you had going on it

Also even more, I really appreciate your class act consideration of our other members of our thirdgen.org community at the forefront of your post!

So to give maximum opportunity to other third gens that have never been recognized with a COTM and to avoid a future controversy / precedent that we could get into on how much of a change is a change for COTM nomination purposes, let's say thank you for posting a great update on your prior COTM and not have it in our voting thread for this month.
