Drain plugs

Can you guys tell me where there are drain plugs/holes in the body? I think i remember reading there is one under the pass side rear seat but could someone chime in and confirm that and if there are any others? I need to run a wire through for my elec cutout.

Or better yet, where do you guys with elec cutouts run you wires through? I have a auto trans.

thanks!

There are 5 drain points in your car. two at the lowest point in the front seat (foot) area, two at the lowest point in the rear seat area (foot area), and one at the lowest point in the cargo area. And these are big holes.

No, they are metal plates several inches wide and long that are slid in place over the holes and then sealed with a thick sealant to keep moisture out. If you ever pull your carpet out, you will find the jute insulation stuck to the sealant.

So you think it would be a good idea to pull up the cover and run a wire through and then seal it shut with something or two find another point of entry?

Door # 2 = Find another point of entry. What application is your electric cut-out going to be used for.

me too....i'm pretty sure Trickster knows its an exhaust cutout...but maybe he had a brain fart....

I'd say to just pop the shifter plate off your console, and if you look in, you'll see the shifter cable run through a black grommet. If you run it through there, it'll come out right above your trans on the driver's side and should be easy to route to your exhaust cutout.

Just to correct, but there are at least six (6) of these plugs. 1 under each seat (totalling four) and one under each footwell.

The ones under footwell and driver/pass seat are the same size (large and kind of oblong) and the 2 under the rear seats are smaller.

I know this because I have removed mine to replace the carpet and glue, but cannot find replacements.

If you want to get technical about it, that would be nine of them. The four under the seats, four more for the front and rear foot wells, and one in the cargo well. There may be that many in your car, however there were only the ones I mentioned in mine. I quess it varied from year to year.
