Hawks 5" installed in teal pics here
Got my hawks 5" from teh gp earlier this week. AS willie said in his post the fit was pretty good. I had to slightly ream out the holes for the middle section to get it more to the left and centered. A slight bit of sanding on the ends and that was it. One of the better glass pieces i've dealt with. I had fit it and painted it black but didnt bolt it down. Bad idea!! So it still needed a little sanding and then i was like wow that black looks gay. SO i went ahead and sanded it, primed and painted it teal with the a few layers of clear. The color is a tad off but you can barely even tell.
I'm glad i went with this one over the double winged spoiler i was looking at. Yes i sadi double wing lol. It gives the car a super sick sick look and am real happy with it. Plus i'm the only one in colorado with one to my knowledge.

Yes that is the clear peeling on the back bumper. THe batts for the camera are starting to go dead so i'll get some new ones when i'm out and replace the pics with better ones.

That is absolutely my favorite Camaro spoiler, it gives it the look of the IROC stock cars (the actual race cars). I tried and tried to talk my brother into that spoiler (then there would be at least two in Colorado), but he opted to go with the 91-92 Z-28 high rise instead. I am certainly glad he did away with his old spoiler though. It was so "BLING" and r!ce looking. He put it on like 10 years ago, and at the time I tought it looked wicked, and it did. But then the Fast & Furious thing happened and it just started looking tacky to me.

Does anyone know how hard it would be to put my factory third brake light into the hawk spoiler?

thats awesome :hail: very nice. I definetly think the 5 inch spoilers look better with the 91-92 rear bumper cover.

I really am glad i went with this i too had looked at the high rise Z spoiler but there is a teal Z running around here with one and i wanted something totally different. gta-spd u have apic of that spoielr you were talkign about. I was looking at the saleen type wing with the 2 decks because the end pieces matched the lines onf the gfx scoops but decided to stay muscle looking.
Anyone else who has put this on have you expereienced a crap load more dirt and dust on the tails and liscence plate kid was behind me pulling into the shop said you could see the dust all swirling behind the car. He said it looked sweet. If you catch the back end at just the right angle back and slightly to the side it almost looks like it comes out to the bumper and the lines of the wing and bumper match perfectly. I'm super happy with it

Kandied, you seem to only like very specific things a certain way
I for one think it looks great. I think with some nice wheels and suspension you could have a killer/clean look.

however without regards anyhow i still think it looks nice. the color makes it though, probably look even better on a black car.

Willie put in a thin Caddy third brake light in, not a camaro one. I beleive he had a problem with the stock one because it's curved and the new spoiler is flat, not curved like the stock spoiler

Yes I have a pic of the spoiler he had on there. It's a little small, but you can see it on there.

Yep, looks really fine. Like I said in my post, color does make a huge difference. I think any dark color would look better than a light color, as my white tends to make it look extremely huge. That's why I painted a one-inch black band across the bottom, to make it appear smaller.
On the third brake light, the stock 5-bulb unit will not work. Its surface is curved (bottom to top) and this spoiler is relatively flat. Mine is not from a Caddy. I only used the term "Cadillac" as a reference as most of theirs are really long. I used a 48-LED light bar from LED Lighting Systems and fabbed brackets (literally in the spoiler itself) and a clear plexi lens. It came out looking totally custom and killer!
And like 'builder said, it's definitely seen in the rear view mirror!

Okay, IMO that looks great. I got to thinking and if GM did ever create a 3rd gen SS, that would be the spoiler they would have used, again IMO.
I like it a lot, looks very nice man!!!!!!

I just gotta say I love this new car of yours (especially compared to the old firebird you had). You've got a winner on your hands now, and have made many respectible posts as compared to before. Good job on the car and keep up the good work. I look forward to your future progress on the car.

Sweet man! I wasn't sure if I'd like that spoiler when I first examined the design, but after seeing yours installed I must say it looks fantastic. Adds a subtle custom touch without looking like an attention-deprived owner drives it - if you know what I mean.

devianb: I'm still remembering you and your bird
devianb: To me I will always associate u with those little rims and iroc spoiler
Talking to devian tonight on aim lol. It's funny how i turned 18, got the rs and it was like i don't go to the street races anytime i can anymore, i dont drive fast just to show off. I now more than ever want to build it into something fast and what not, come on my dad builds race cars, i'd be a dissapointment if i didnt lol. but now i'm almost as interested in turnign it into something totally unique and somethign i can totally show off. While standing still. I think my goal is to someday be at autorama next to kandied to put it into perspective. Like i said new ride and a new start! Glad i went that way

I have always loved the look of the first gen spoiler. Wish they made one like that for out third gens. This one does look kinda close and looks awesome. Nice choice.

It's not mine though, it is my brother's. I've watched that car go from a bone stock 305TPI/5sp to a Viper killer over the past 10 years. It's funny, because he has done so much to it over the years, that I have learned from his trial & error and really saved myself a mess of time and money. That is how I got my 6-speed, Baer brake kit (that I sold a couple years ago while I was between 3rd Gen cars) and a whole mess of other things that he has done twice to get it where it is now. Great pics. Works well on that color.
Something about the angle of the lip bothers me.
Has anyone made their own lip, or added to it?
