Is this cool to cut off????
Couldnt seemed to get thsi worded right in the search to find any pages but my side skirt is getting torn up due to the small tabs on the door filler skirt. MY painter is going to patch up the spots where it has hit and when we were looking at it he said i could probaly just cut teh end of the tab off and it would stop it. THe door hinges are still in good shape and seem solid so will thsi stop it and will it mess with the structural integrity of teh gfx at all. I figured it wont but want to oduble check.
What its doign to my rocker panel skirt.

i had the same prob. it was like that when i bought the car it was doing that cause my door was off about a 1/4 of an inch so i reset the door and it no longer scrapes the only suggestion i have is that you check to see if you door is off a little bit

Correct. Even though your pins may be in good shape, the door hinges themselves are out of alignment or are bent. A jack and a 2X4 fixed mine after a heavy friend *hung* on the door.

REplacing them isnt bad i have done alot of pin and bushing replacements. I ran a strip of masking tape across the door and when i shut it it was getting torn. I went under and cut off teh little tabs so tehy sit up inside the space between the bracket and door put a strip of tape again and it no longer catches. The doors arent drooping at all and they are in perfect alignment so problem is solved.

I have new pins for my door, but my question is has anyone done this before and how did you compress the springs? I have not figure out a way to compress them to remove for the pin replacement. Any ideas?
