3rd Gen -> 4th Gen HVAC Controls

well i looked on this site NUMEROUS times and couldnt find the right info, which compared to my vehicle. I unplugged the 3rd gen Heater controls from my vehicle, i have 1 connector and 2-3 metal wires i unhooked. 2 wires controlled the vent/heater/defrost, and 1 wire controlled cold/hot controls which on the 4th gen is the cable that came with my 4th gen heater controls. i havent seen this on any posts here, people are talkin about 6 colored wires i should connect, i dont have those. the connector i have to the right in the picture, i see this on the 4th gen controls i was told just to plug it right in, this controls the off/speed i see. but on top of that there are 6 thick colored wires. what do i do with these? any help would be appreciative.

ok so i took a pic of the connector and 3 wires in my vehicle. like i said 2 of them controlled what vents to go to, and the 1 underneath the controls controlled cold/hot air.

here is the 4th gen heater controls. the top connector is for my defrost, the second connector is the one i replace with the 3rd gen connector above. the middle cable is for the hot cold, assuming i have to replace the cable that was on the old one.

NOW what i dont get is the bottom one, this is with all the wires, i dont have this on my 3rd gen, i had 2 cable controlling the vents, now this has 6 wires, whad you guys do??????????

Does your car have AC? Looks like you have the non-ac controls with just vent/defrost controls.

I'm thinking the only way for you to get your setup working properly is to goto the junkyard and get the airbox that attaches to the firewall with all the vaccum servos. I've never seen a thirdgen with cable controlled vents.

It sucks, but this is the answer if you want the 4th gen HVAC to work.

You should still be able to get the hot/cold and speed select switches to work. You could jam the doors open to blow through all vents all the time.
