I have a 91 camaro rs and i am about to buy a 83-84 camaro hood i believe off of a z28 its a factory fiberglass hood with the two indented louvers in the center, longer than the iroc ones, i heard it may not fit my car because of the nosecone on my year...?

... I took the hood off my old '83 Z28 and put it on my old '91 RS and had zero problems with it, don't see why you would either.

Try to find one off an 82 car, the 83s were recalled for separating from the bracing because GM switched suppliers for the adhesive. I have one from an 82 Z28 that I need to get painted. Don't forget to change your hood struts. The lighter hoods need different struts that are softer because the hoods weigh considerably less than the steel hoods.

Re: !! camaro hood !?

How can you tell the difference between a Z28 1982 and 1983 hood?

I have a factory fiberglass hood on my 92 RS. They will work, you just have to loose or replace the hood struts (lifters).

You should not have any fit issues. Post pics when done.

Good luck

Re: !! camaro hood !?

Fitment, just get the different struts and it will bolt right on.

As far as the bracing separating from the shell, just get some clear silicone and go around all the supports ive done it on a couple of hoods, makes considerably stronger.
