yes, senior in high school, 1 ower car (woman) 85K 1988 IROC-Z L98 HT, 1 piece cragar louvers on the back, 3 moths and $3300 later wrecked it....bad (it all happened so fast) saved up a stack of cash (fast forward) and were still here HOT ROCKEN, TO HOT TO TROT and STILL.....LEADEN THE CHARGE!!!!!

My first thirdgen was a 1989 rs with 80,000 one owner miles never saw snow or rain, it was my dads buddies car, i owned it from 11th grade through college, i have had so many cars since then it is hard to remember i just picked up a 1992 rs rust free hard to find these days in wi. LOL.

Got a 81 camaro for my 16th birthday and drove it all through high school and saved up money my jr year and bought a 91 rs with 305tbi and a t5 and still driving it now. Just turned 160k and runs a 10 flat in the 1/8th so not to bad. As for the 81 it sits on jackstands without a tranny waitin to find a decent t5 or have enough money to slap a tko in it. Was always nice having 2 differnet camaros to drive to school. Always got the well which one are you driving today question lol.

I had to wait until I was 32 before I could have the IROC-Z I wanted in H.S. It all started in the Fall of '89 (Sophomore year) and a buddy of mine had just turned 16. His dad bought him a new Red '89 IROC-Z 5.7 TPI with T-tops and I was green with envy!
Well, fast-forward to 2006. I got a call from a fellow gearhead that knew of an older gent that was selling his Black '89 IROC-Z with a 5.7 and T-tops. When I talked to the guy, he sent a whole mess of pictures and let me know that it had 58K miles. I caught the next flight out of town and bought it for $9.5K.
She was and is in sweet condition. The only mod I've made is adding a set of Edelbrock TES headers....otherwise bone-stock.
Well I've had it now for 5 years and I can't decide if I would have had more fun owning her back then or now. One thing is for sure, I can appreciate a thing of beauty a whole hell of a lot more now than then!

got my first third gen in high school. it was an 84 z-28, bought in 88. i worked part time learning to wrench in a local shop to pay for it. lots of great memories.

i had to third gens in high school first one was my junior year of high school 1983 firebird se v6 2.8 with 5 speed wasnt mechanically inclined so i sold it for like 200 bucks to a mechanic during the summer of 05, fall of 05 i got a 1984 firebird this was a 2.8 v6 car as well with a auto trans which got totaled 3 weeks after i graduated then i bought my 89 gta 350 car for 500 bucks so far ive had 3 third gen firebirds an 2 third gen camaros 88,89

I had an 1984 L69 Camaro in high school. My first car ever.
The thing ran terribly. It was constantly over heating. At the time I didn't have enough money to give the car the proper restoration it deserved. I ended up selling it after I graduated. I always remember it though.

had a bad tranny it did run tho, i have had every thing out of that car doing one thing or anouther except the engine, now here i am in 10th fixen to get my licences. i just coulden see a good chevy go to the ground

My neighbor had two irocs that i admired since i was 12. I use to go over and check them out all the time. When i was a junior in hs i heard he was moving and at the time he only had one left, which was the better of the two. He said he just wanted to fly to his new home so i picked up this 86 iroc from him for a $1000. It only had 66xxx on it. I thought it was the coolest thing driving it to hs even though it had a lg4 motor lol but ill fix that as soon as college stops taking all of my car funds. It still looks the same as when i got it.

I am a freshman in college now and I have an 85 F41 Camaro. I bought it my junior year in high school. Absolutely love beating the ricers at school when they would challenge me.

Thanks! I do plan on building a decent street motor for it and will get a bunch of good parts thrown it's way but for now it will stay as is so the girlfriend can race it at the dragstrip in the street class

My first car was in high school, 1984 sport coupe with blown up 2.8. My stepdad and uncle insisted on fixing the 2.8 because they did not want me to have a V8. I had the 2.8 fixed and drove it for a couple of months until I was able to secure a 350 and auto trans. When my stepdad went out of town me and my buddy, went to town and had the V8 in and running before my stepdad got home. 15 years later I still love the third generation f-body. Since then I owned 3 more. One stock 88 RS 5.0 with 5 speed, one slightly modified 86 sport coupe, and now I have my current modified 86.

on Saturday i bought my very first car. its an 88 iroc-z with the 305 and a t5... very fast... runs rough but it runs when i unplug the maf it runs much better. ohh ya and it has t-tops !!!! drove 3h with a uhaul car trailer to get it and 3h back. very much a project car... but at a good price only 1200!!!! saved money mowing lawns for 1.5 years its my sophmore year in high school just got my permit the week before needs plenty of work but i have 9 months and no money to put into it....

Well i will have to add got mine in the summer of 2010 in june and it was the summer of my senior year. Worked for 3 years to buy it after seeing it in storage at my uncles for 5 years. Put the cutouts on 2 days before the first day of school and took my friend to the first day of our senior year pulled in early with very few people there and just threw it into a donut for about a minute covered the whole parking lot in smoke and got everybody outside. My god was the dean pissed but i got away with it. Plan on keeping her and making it a tribute to my twin whos struggling with cystic fibrocis.

I was lucky enough, girlfriends mom sold me an 88TA with a 400 in it..kept getting oil on 2 of the plugs...she couldnt deal with it..she had just had the interior done....funny thing is i had to park it around the corner to hide it from my parents...i was only 16 with no job..that was in 94...that car was the shizz back then...clean interior and good paint..just had to clean those 2 plugs twice a week...

Got my car when i was 14 Had 1500 saved up, went to the lemon lot and saw it, fell in love. Dad didnt want me to get it but i wouldnt shut up about lol. so finally got it and now I'm 16 and still lovin it except for the gas mileage

Well lets see, I'm still in my first car, which I bought when I was a junior in high school (Feb 05). Bought it from my aunt. It had been sitting for about a year. Had mouse turds and crap all in it, baby wipes and junk...gum stuck on the center console, pretty crappy. I gave her $500 down and she let me pay her the other five hundred in payments whenever I could.
Put a battery in her, took her home and spent forever cleaning her, bought some cheap chrome exhaust tips and drove it to school the next day. It was great, people were like, "who's Trans Am is that out there?" MINE! Then after fixing a bunch of problems and it leaving me stranded once or twice, I decided to try to go drifting on a gravel road. Well I ended up down a huge ditch into a small tree. Lol. After school was out I spent all summer with my dad doing a small restoration I guess you could say. After I came back everywhere I went I got compliments ALL the time. I was leaving school one day and some woman was yelling at me from the sidewalk, haha.
Well less than a year after paint and stuff, this dumba$$ bish just ran into me in the school parking lot. That just pretty much ruined it. Everyone was like "holy shlt" It's been over a year and I'm just now getting around to fixing that and making it super nice. Ive spent WAYYY too much money on it the last few months. Atleast it was nice for my senior pics. My main senior pic everywhere is the one with my car, lol. Well here's pics... first is right after I got it and cleaned it up...2 is after I tried drifting...and 3 Is how it looked after paint with my dad, before the dumb girl hit me.
