Any place that installs windshields will have some. Make sure you get some urethane and primer to reinstall it.
Pull the old strip out. You may have to cut it out as you lift it straight up. Once its out you will have to cut and clean out the space that is left. The better its cleaned out the better your new molding will sit in. Prime the cleaned out area well. Fill the void a little better than 1/2 full of urethane and start at the bottom corner of the windshield by pressing the trim into the bed of urethane. Leave about an inch or so of extra trim. When you get to the top of the windshield at the corner you will probably need some masking tape to hold it down so it sits properly. Continue around untill you get it all in place. Make sure you leave about an inch or so extra at either end so you have something to grab when it needs to be removed. The trim will be easier to work with if its warm. Get it too warm and it will be tough to push into the bed of urethane. You may want to run some tape along the whole trim peice depending on how it looks.....if it dosent need it to stap put then your fine. Any areas that have excess urethane will need to be wiped down ASAP with a prep-sol or precleano type product before its allowed to dry.

I would like to replace mine, but would rather not have to deal with it leaking in the future if i did it wrong.

Nope not at all. Just follow what I posted and you will be fine. If the moulding comes out in one piece (some will and some wont depending on sun rot) this shouldnt take more than an hour or so to complete.

Re: I need new windshield trim.
A little late, but after I took out my seal I noticed there was some kind of rubber gasket underneath where the weather seal sat. It looks pretty crusty and old so what should I do with it? Also, do I need to buy a specific seal for my car or are the seals universal?

Thats the urethane bed your seeing there. They do get a bit crusty after being out in the elements for several years. If your windshield isnt leaking dont worry about it. You will need to remove the urethane in the gap where the trim piece was. Use a sharp olfa knife and cut along the side of the windshield and up against the top of the windshield frame and remove all the old urethane. Once you get it cleaned out follow the instructions I layed out earlier.
