pics of " pinch welds" please...
As the title says. I am in process of trying to "repair" mine but som have been so mangled. I am particurly interested in the area right behind front fender. There is a bolt with a washer, but I don't know which way they need to piont and what they connect to

that point points straight up, or down, perpendicular ot the floor. Its usually bent flat by somebody jacking pup the car by that point. That usually causes the fender to bulge a little by the door too

Re: pics of " pinch welds" please...
It IS longer than everything else due to the huge washer behind the fender bolt, by about 3/8 of an inch... Not sure if I already have a pic posted of this or not.

If you need, I can try to get another pic tomorrow as I have to leave for work shortly and won't be back until after dark...
There's 3 layers to the thing, the part that the fender lip sits against, the nut space and nut, and the nut backing. Sounds as though yours may need to be welded back together.

Yeah. I prob does need to be rewleded. It is ugly. But if you could get another pic that would be great. Also I see you did a lot of work . Did you clean up your floor boards. If so what did you use to cleen up goo around drain plugs, then what to use to seal them back up. I am wanting to out a layer os sound deadening material, but the jute pad sticks to those areas, then I heated them to peel off, but can't get it all up. Too dam sticky

Re: pics of " pinch welds" please...
I haven't even hardly started yet on most of it... Too friggin cold outside and I can't use my new welder without rewiring 2 circuits of the house, which I can't do until the ground thaws...
I haven't touched my drain plugs as they aren't rusted. The squares of tar or whatever it is over them is sticky indeed... I haven't even attempted to get the padding off of them because it's a royal PITA to do. I might end up using either gas or a sandblaster to get them off so that I can install some Dynamat-like material on the floor after I get the Rust Bullet on there after I fix the rust-outs.

Ya it is pretty nasty. I have got the jute off and a lot of it, but the residue it leaves behind I don't know what to use.
