Help with key marks.

I dont know which spot to post this at so I will do both. I just had my car keyed several times. I know that I could get it painted with insurance, but since it has happened more than once I know it will continue to happen so I am not going to paint it. Any way I am sick of looking at them what can I do to get rid of them. My friend said some wax will work because they are not that deep at all. What would you guys suggest? Thanks in advance.

Depending on how deep they are, and how good you are at bodywork, they can be wetsnaded out. If the scratches are only in the clearcoat, then you are OK, anything deeper won't work. If you don't feel confortabel taking sandpaper to your paint(I understand), then some rubbing compound will help. IF you want to wet sand, use 1000 grit and then 1500 grit. Fold the sandpaper into thirds, soak it in water for a few minutes, or use a block and sand lightly while dribbling water from a water bottle. Sand a little with 1000, wipe with a dry cloth and if it needs it, sand more. Be very careful not to go through the clearcoat. When you eliminate the scratch, or can't sand anymore, use the 1500 grit to smooth the 1000 grit scratches. Follow up with some light rubbing compund, then swirl mark remover/glase, and wax.
