Paint Code for red '88

Good Morning;
I have an '88 Camaro (2.8 mpfi) that shows a paint code of WA-L9535 and U9535.
When I went to the local Chevy dealer to get some touch-up paint, he tells me that that code does not exist for 1988, but does for 1989.
I was told that the color of my car is Victory Red, but that's not what the code for 89 shows.

(I know the car is an '88 because I'm the original owner.)
Are these two paints (88 and 89) the same?
I'm very confused...and I turn to the experts!!
Any advice?

9535 is the color Flame Red for GM years 88-90

9260 is Victory Red for years 85-90

if it's flame red, then why the heck does my showroom brochure for the '88's call it Bright Red?

Just when I thought I understood what color touch-up paint I need, you bring me more indecision... What am I going to do?

Maybe this will help clear up some confusion (?),, dunno but this is from my GM collision book.
(sorry for the large file/image)

Maybe whoever made the brochure for the dealer didn't know or really care what the actual name was?,, it was bright & it was red,,, it's a bright red car. Who knows,,, I just know those are the GM piant codes from the MOTOR Crash Estimating Guide book.

For whatever reason the names of colors change depending on who you ask. GM/PPG/BASF/Dupont. Don't worry about the name. The WA code is all that matters. The two numbered code also means nothing. Look at Deadbirds post of the color sheet and you'll see code 74 is used five times with overlapping years. All that matters is WA-9535. U is for upper color, L is for lower.
