Horn doesn't work on new Grant
I just installed my new Grant Carbon Fiber steering wheel. Looks great but I can't seem to get the horn to work. Any ideas? I know the horn works becaue the damn thing kept honking evertime the lead touched metal during installation.

Very simple there is a plate you were supose to put on under the horn button your just not make a solid electrical connection.

That's what I thought but the plate didn't seem to fit. Also, if I remember correctly, the directions said that plate wasn't used with my steering wheel. Oh, brother. I gotta check again.

Are you sure you got the right adapter kit? What wheel did you get, you should have to use the plate, you might have acidently put it one backwards, that what I did the first time.

Sure about the kit. Bought it at Pep Boys. The guy looked up the number right on the back of a Grant box and the car make and model. It's the Grant 1110 ultratech steering wheel. I have to check the directions again but I thought it said I don't need that contact ring. I don't think it will fit either.

First thing that came to mind is to check the fuse. You said it kept going off during installation, so you might have blown a fuse or possibly (hopefully not) blown the horn. If the fuse isn't blown, double check the install. The wire with the bell-shaped end goes through the spring and the plastic sleeve. This goes through the center of the steering wheel and connects to the horn button. The brown, funny-shaped horn adaptor piece isn't used since you have the 5 bolt steering wheel. It's only used for the three bolt steering wheels. Then, you put the horn button on and the cap over it.

Also, dont forget that new steering wheels will have a normally open and normally closed little pegs to hook your horn wire too. There's only 2, so if it's not working correctly, switch it to the other peg.
