Door spring ??

Hi!

I just got done putting in lower pin+bushings on driverside door. How can you get the spring back in without that special tool. Any ideas would be great!

It not vary safe, but I put mine in a vise, pinched it closed, and used 4 wire ties to hold it. Put it in place then cut the ties. Be vary carefull.

HI!

For me it worked . The bottom bushings over time wears so the pin gets loose . I got a buddy to lift the end of the door up and down while I watched to see if it was a top or bottom hing problem . Bottom pin had play in it. I had about a 1/4" of play but it wasnt causing any bad problems so I fixed it at a good time. Now if you see that the top hing has play or the holes that the bottom hing bushings fit in have inlarged then you have major hing repairs. Do a search on thirdgen for DOOR HINGES you will find lots of info.
I had a few problems such as getting the door spring in (went to bodyshop for that) and I still didnt get my door alined just right yet.

Yea these hinges suck
my door was sagging and it was because of the bottom hinge and bushing so i replaced it and it still sags. I found out why but dont know how to fix it. There are the 2 bushings you get in the kit and you put them in the part of the hinge that goes on the a piller but the holes on the hinge thats part of the door are worn too so i have no clue what to do i think i'm gonna have to fabricate some busshing NE ideas guys.
