Feeler thread: Carbon Fiber and your car
So I've been looking into making some molds for various carbon fiber parts for our cars and really I'm curious to see how much interest is out there. What I was thinking specifically was making some fenders, maybe a stock style bumper (front and rear), GFX kit, hoods, dash top and panels, decklids and spoilers, various interior pieces, if I get crazy maybe some larger body panels (I'd love to do a whole car like what the ring brothers just did with the stang) Is this something you guys would buy for weight savings on our cars, I know a whole lot of us race and can always use the weight savings. Just feeling out the thoughts right now.
Whats you guys' and gals opinions? or anything else you would be interested in? Looking for thoughts!

Would there be fiberglass parts with an overlay of carbon fiber like most parts on the market or real autoclave cured lightweight high strength legit carbon fiber?

I'm planning on making 100% carbon fiber, I assume my price would probaly be slighty higher than a cf/fg mix but who knows.

If you made a decent dash you could make a killing if it wasnt outrageously priced. Even a thin glue on cover would be nice.

Front lip for 91/92 cars, the OEM ones sag so bad with age a stiff cf one would be nice, and would sell. Bumpers, hoods, deck lids, and gfx would sell imo

price you can sell them for would be the 2nb largest factor ... quality being the first ... imo

If you get into fenders/doors/etc you'd have to find someway to make them street legal.

Re: Feeler thread: Carbon Fiber and your car
RAM AIR 1 HOOD! but that being said I would really buy anything for a 91-92 Front bumper, fenders. the GFX front side and rear. Also interior pieces. I really wanted my gauge clsuter and other interior trim pieces wrapped in carbon fiber.
*****************
Also An opportunity where you could posibly make some cash is the rear deck lid. Ive seen where the rear decklid for a camaro done in carbon fiber is RIDICULOUS! like 559 up to 650! If you wanted to use me as a guinea pig for that piece ill be repainting the car soon. wouldnt mind throwing my GTA spoiler onto a carbon fiber deck lid
