1LE front brakes installed

I finally put on my front 1LE brakes. Buying a recip saw really helped speed up the process. I got my tap from Sears incase anyone is planing on modding the spindles themselves. I put on my 15" gold crosslace wheels and there is plenty of clearance between them and the brakes.

Thanks. According to the Baer Brakes site, new rotors have to be seasoned for 5-6 days before pad bedding. So I'll looks like it'll be a week before I can really find out who well they work.

I think around $800. I bought most of the parts 2 years ago.

Pic with the wheel on.

Yes you should wait about a week of normal driving before you test them out. The brakes need to be broken in.

Did you change the m/c and p/v? Be careful when you try those brakes out, just in case. I couldn't lock up the brakes after the conversion until I changed the m/c and maybe the p/v (it's been awhile since I did the swap).

You'll love the improvement!

Take it out and do 5 or 6 real good "panic stops" and you'll be good to go, You just have to get that glaze off the pads and rotors.

Congrats!

I have rear drums so I already had the MC. I'll wait to put in the 1LE Prop valve until I put in my LS1 rear brakes.

Justin and Ed,

I purchased Spohn's 1LE kit and all the associated parts needed: combo valve and M/C, Earl's lines, etc. I've completed the spindle mod (hacksaw with a new blade--wasn't that bad). While I'm in there, I intend to replace the a-arm bushings with Prothane (also from Spohn). Any suggestions that will save me time or effort would be appreciated.

If your done cutting the ears off and tapping, the rest is just easy assembly.

If your putting in new a-arm bushings, might want to put in new ball joints too.

Yep, do the ball joints while you're at it. You might as well replace the little bump stops on the A-arms, too. Mine were just falling apart. Looks like you have it all ready to go. Please post pics of your LS1 rear brakes, I'd like to see them.
