So I have a 91 Camaro with disc brakes conversion. I know the front brakes are ls1 style as I've already replaced a caliper. I believe I used one from a 98 Camaro when I replaced it. Now both of my rear calipers are leaking. The seem to say pbr on them. But they seem so small compared to the fronts. Just curious if these are ls1 calipers as well.

 

There are the Rear Brakes that would also be on a 1998 Camaro.

 

thank you! Now for my next question. I did a little bit of reading on here last night and saw you can fit a c5 caliper with a ls1 rotor. Any real benefit to doing this? I know c5 calipers are a tad bigger but for a daily driver would it be worth it? I'd love to autocross it but I doubt it will ever make it there. I have 16inch rims.

 

Not really enough difference unless you are moving up to the rear 4 piston caliper setups and that may require bigger wheels .
Stick with what you have there. 98-02 f-body rear disc.

 

Those brakes look like somebody went 4-wheeling.

LS1 and C5 rear calipers are virtually identical. Slightly better are C6 calipers. But LS1 rear calipers are a plentiful, and C5 and C6 calipers are far less available. So if you're in need of replacing your current LS1 calipers, you'll be just as well off to replace them with another set of LS1s.
