Which front brake hoses for LS1 brake swap?

Which front brake hoses do you use for the for the 4th gen "LS1" to 3rd gen brake swap? Can you use the 3rd gen standard or longer 1LE hoses that are readily available and affordable, or do you have to use something else? BigBrakeUpgrade sells "specially modified hoses for LS1 swap" that are VERY expensive for rubber hoses, but I'm wondering why you need special hoses. As long as the hoses are long enough and have the right fittings on either end - which I believe the 3rd gen hoses do - they should work, right?

As far as the rear goes I think I have that figured out.

Thanks for any answers.

What about these stainless steel hoses from Centric?

I'm not familiar with them (Centric) but if they fit a 3rd gen and you want to upgrade to a stainless hose, then go for it. There are many brands that offer the same.
There's lots to be said for the benefit of using a braided hose although I'm not in that camp. The rubber hoses I've got have been doing their job for many years. If I were in competitions where braking performance is the difference between wining and losing, I'd give it a go. But such is not the case.

That's what I'm seeing, too. Stainless steel hoses give you a much former pedal, but for street only cars that probably doesn't matter, especially if you are running power brakes (which I'm not).

I suppose "much firmer" is relative. There's more to be gained with a brake upgrade from the OEM (as you've done). That's my opinion mind you and others may have something else to say.
As for power brakes, or in your case, no power brakes, remember that the brake pedal geometry is different between the two. Manual brakes typically having a greater mechanical advantage on the master cylinder. Having had a former alliance with a chassis building shop, this is something we addressed on a regular basis. I'm guessing this is something you're aware of having made the switch.
Out of curiosity, how did you up with with manual brakes?

If it helps, I used the 1le hoses for a c5 swap, they are a little longer which helps.

If your question was how did I end up with manual brakes, I converted my car to them with a kit from ManualBrakes. I hate power brakes - always have.

I used Earls braided lines for thirdgens.

The Stop Tech hoses I got from Hawks Motorsports are DOT legal and the braiding sleeved with a clear heat shrink for environmental protection. Seemed like nice stuff.
