I dont have the Cd player but i do have the stock HU and cassete player But i am changing them really quickly. I am thinking of putting in 5 1/4 diamond audio components in some kicks, MB quarts 6 x 9's both powered by a 75 x 4 kicker amp (already have), I am also thinking of a Kenwood KBC X759 as a HU. I'm Glad i got my new car for such a good price

if you car is 90+ i would suggest using a late model non bose/monsoon radio mod it to fit use high quality line out convertors and then add system it keep thieves somewhat uninterested in your car. at least compared to the next guy who has that kenwood.

The reason I'm asking is bc I am putting my car back to stock, and I'd like to remove my aftermarket CD player but I'd like to retain a CD player and I know that the stock unit would look and work great for my purpose. I know they were used also on other GMs in the same time frame so I'm hoping I might be able to find one.
Thanks
Mark

Yeah mine came with the tape player too but w/o the graphic equalizer. Don't know what the hell was wrong with it but when you played a tape every once in a while it would just get louder for a few seconds and then quiet back down???
It beat the hell out me so I swapped it for a CD player. That was many years ago and now I want the car to appear to be totally stock and as this post shows, no one really has the factory CD player anymore in their Third-Gens. Of course not many were optioned like that, but any stock radio gave way to the more advanced (read - pleasureful to listen to) aftrmkt CD players.
This is why I think it would be a nice touch for shows to have a stock radio, I'd just prefer a CD player bc I do like listening to music.
Anyone have any experience with these, were they any good??

I actually bought a stock CD from ThirdGen Parts that they were selling on Ebay out of a 91...wanted to replace the busted cassette, and didn't want to start messing with something that wouldn't fit or connect right the first time. It works ok...if I had to do it all over again though, I think I would have gone with something better.

I have a Factory CD player in my GTA. When I bought the car years ago it didn't work so I had it fixed, upgraded the speakers with subs and an AMP and it sounds good.
A couple of years ago I bought another T/A Fact. CD player off of Ebay for extra parts........just incase

Nice username! If you have one you want to get rid of or know anyone that does, please email me.
That site mentioned a few posts ago was a waste of my time. I emailed the guys with a few questions and got a totally useless response and nothing else. Does anyone know what's up with that site?
