ok guy's and gal's i need and alarm
i was going to go with a compustar 2wss but the only shop by was run by complete idiot's and i would not let them anywhere near my car......
so i need to pick out a new two-way system w/ auto start
what do / are all of you using?
one more thing would it possible to get 1 remote to run everything auto start, alarm, 2 doors, and the hatch?
i want to shave off my door handles but really don't want to have to carry around 2 remote's
I've already conacted compustar trying to locate a different installer but in the mean time i figured i'd check with you guy's
thanks

Any alarm by DEI is a good. I myself plan to get their new alarm. IT has a remote that has a lil led pic of the car, tells you if its gotten broken into or is running. Im adding 2 proximity censors by the windows, along with an extra horn inside the car. The remote has a quarter mile radius. Installed w/all the extras for 642, which is a lil high, but its a viper, and currently the best out there.
hey i just heard back they have several new dealership that install the compustar i just got off the phone with one of them and he said he could hook me up
i'm sticking with the 2wss b/c it has almost a 2 mile radius and works in and around wearhouses
i'm also adding in the second horn inside and an air horn outside
and the DEI window sensors
the whole set up will cost an are and a leg but what the hell it's only money right

ok
i've spoken to several of their rep's and have received prices from $500 and up but every shop i've called had given me different prices. i'm talking like anywhere from $25 -$ 300 difference
so the guy i spoke with yesterday at a shop in the bronx
told me i'd be looking at around 650 - 750 for them to wire it the way i want....
but more importantly he sounded like a stand up guy so i'm stopping by his shop this weekend to see some of his work and fine tune the setup i will let you know how it goes......

I installed a Viper in my car, back in '94... still works, no problems. Only thing that broke recently was the keychain remote where the plastic remote body attaches to the chain!
My fiance' has a Viper too, although much fancier than mine. I'll probably upgrade mine this summer. Back when I got my Viper, the "pager" was huge! It was the size of a pager for a first aid squad! I skipped the option; no way I could clip that to my shorts.
I hear that you can't buy a Viper straight anymore (unless you know someone), they require them to be installed by their certified installers. When I installed mine, the guy told me that Viper wouldn't cover the theft warranty (something like $1000 back then), I said no problem, and didn't send the card in. But now they might not even sell it... shame.

I like the Aladdin 2000. I don't see any reason why you coulden't have all of those on the same remote even with a cheap alarm that had an add on remote start. I've heard it doesen't like normal tach signals, but it works fine if you go to the alternator.
