So they stole it
Yea, my car died on thursday so i pushed it to my moms apt complex...... that night someone broke the driverside window and jacked my stuff...
tweeters, amp, and t-top bag.
they tore up the drivers side grill and broke it trying to get the speak out, tore the dash pad to hell but couldnt get it becuase of one screw nearest to the window...
didnt take the headunit even though the tool to take it outa the cage was in the center console...
tried my subs and got all but three screws out and bent the mounting flange b4 they gave up....
dammit man... pics of how my car used to look are on my cardomain site

unfortunatley not..... although im not sure it woulda helped in this case... the problem that DOA'd my car causing me to leave it at my moms was a total power failure due to one of the fusable links burning up.... i had no power to the radio, gauges, etc

i had half a mind to bring tha face, my tools, my school ****e, and my book full of cds when i left the car.....
besides you cant see the face thru the window.... the tint is too dark and the angle is wrong to see thru the windshield

so... what I want to know, is how'd they know you had a system? maybe it was the dark tint that gave it away?
sorry to hear it man...
they stole your tweeters? wtf... tweeters are the cheapest part of a sound system!
they took your audiobaun amp? and are your subs still usable... I dunno why they'd have such a hard time taking it out...
I also agree that an alarm probably wouldn't have stopped them...
if I have to leave my car somewhere strange, I put my t-top bag over my amps and subs, you cannot see that along with my dark tint... pull the faceplate and the radar detector, and I'm off...
if I take it to a shop that will have it overnight, I pull the amp and subwoofer box, (big pain--but not as much as getting my stuff stolen)
have you EVER 'bumped' your system at this apartment complex? if not, I wouldn't be suprised if this was an aquantence of yours... friend or not.
if you ever play your stereo when you're working on it... you're basically inviting thieves to come steal it sometime.. and seeing you push it into the complex, they KNOW your alarm wouldn't work... so it was ****** and grab time...
hopefully you'll do what everyone else does once they get broken into... and that's get a 2-way pager alarm...
you should check a dozen pawn shops around town and see if you can't find some of your stuff... Austin is so big that I would have one hell of a time finding my stuff... maybe you'd have better luck...
