I feel bad that no one has an answer for you, I don't know that I do.

Then you need to get your ECM from out of the passenger side dash area and unplug the black connector (VSS buffer) from the yellow harness mounted on the ECM. Find the green wire with the black stripe and connect another wire (long enough to reach your radio bay) to it:
But you need to start be checking the wiring diagram for you car and find the VSS wire to the computer. It may not be the same color in your car or localtion.

Well, this could be the problem... Is your 5-speed a T56 or just a T5? Because if it's just the original T5, then you likely don't have a vehicle speed sensor.

He should have one behind the dash (speedo) for the computer.

May try the electronics forum, Probably get a better response over there. Don't forget the button. Try narrowing the search to the forum, and concentrate on posts by Trickster.

pre 1990 f-bodies with a standard transmission do not have a VSS. You can purchase one and install it inline with your speedometer cable at the transmission and run the wire into the vechicle

I could be wrong, hope not, but I thought the computer still had an input from the box behind the speedo? Is that just for TCC control in the autos? Doesn’t the EGR or something have a min. speed to enable?
