Hmmm...

Ok, just purchased 2 Kicker Comp VR 05CVR124's .. i cant decide between amplifiers. Choices :

Hifonics BX1205D

KICKER ZX750.1

KICKER ZX1000.1

Anybody have this combo/amp/subs? Or the same subs but different amp? im running a crappy amp right now and want to get rid of it

Looks like the hifonics will give you the most power for the buck. Kickers are more $ and look like they were designed by optimus prime. I think they are also trying to stand on their laurels with the zx/zr model designation. I entered those subs into WinIsd with 1200 watts in a ported 5 cube box @ 32hz, and a sealed 4 cube box. Both boxes start to peak around 123 db's around 50hz. Should sound great! Any good twelves with that much power should make you happy. Your subs are dual vc's right? They will match up perfectly with a 1 ohm amp

The kicker will likely give you more power, at a higher cost. The Hifonics stuff isn't what it once was, and though it probably makes rated power, the kicker stuff almost always makes significantly more than it's rated power.

yeah they are dual vc's.. i did some research on it and did see that come of the zx750's were putting out 900+.. and the zx1000's over 1100, i think i might save the money and go with the kicker,, would the zx1000 be too much for them where i'd have hte extra power and not be used? then should i go with the 750?

Also, not to change the subject, has anybody ported there trunk-well box? is it possible. Not the most knowledable on audio stuff

Looks like they're stable to 2 ohm, so no not a good idea. They would most likely shut off after prolonged hard use.
