hey, i want to get the rockford HX2s. they sound pretty good in my friends acura, but i have an 84 camaro and its gonna sound different.

i want three 12s in a sealed box so i dont have to switch the box i have now. will this settup be loud? what kind of spl's would i probably pull off of this settup? (they will get 500 watts rms each, i have the amp all hooked up, but not running any subs yet)

hey man i have 2 of the old style punch 12's in my 92 with a ppi pc275 pushing them im hitting 141.4BD so with 3 12's and the right amp you should have no problem shattering that back glass

Depending on your amp, that setup has the potential to hammer. I'd say 145-148dB would be possible with proper tuning and with a good amp.

i used to have three 12s of the older punch dvcs and it rocked. then i had one stolen and i couldnt replace it cause i couldnt find anyone that had them in stock. so i decided to sell the other two and get a new sub system. (they stole one cause the other 2 were installed with torx screws )

i have a rockford power serries amp, i forget which one, running mono.

(any one out there know how to stop a theif from breiking the rear hatch lock!!??!!??)

Not possible

If they want your system they'll put a brick through the back glass, best defense is not to show it off too much and don't leave it in a seedy neighborhood.

Those HX2s hammered for their time. Their amps were also powerhouses back then too. Back then class D stuff was just starting to show up from premium manufacturers, and weren't cheap yet.

Re: BASS...
if ur going Mainly for SPL id go with some 15s more power always better IMO but i think 145 db is a really high estimate these cars can get loud easy with it being a hatch but 145 is LOUD

LOL, on a 1500 watt rms system sealed. You obviously have know clue about car audio or know how much it takes to shatter glass with a sub.

It will be loud thoe, but not that loud to shatter glass lol. It will be more towards sq than spl cause of the sealed box. Are they 4 0hm or 2? How are you wiring them and what amp are you going to push them with?

If you want to get down to the bottom of it come over to where i go for any audio questions at ecoustics.com and post your question on the car audio subs forum there. Theyll hook you up and know there sh.it when it comes to car audio.
