I'm looking to get a 1.5 dinn cd player and would appreciate any suggestions on a good unit.

Thanks

I like the Alpine 852 and 855, but I decided on an Alpine 7863. Same price as the 852 but substantially more features. It's a single-Din unit, but once I flush mount it, it'll look fine.

I got the Pioneer one (DEH-45DH). It does its job well! Plays CD-Rs without a problem. Only cost me around $150 unlike one of my friend's Alpine that cost around $400 that cannot read CD-Rs at all! I recommend the Pioneer!

I think I'll check into the Pioneer DEH-45DH, since I have had several other people also like those.

Thanks

Right now the only brands that I'm aware of that offer this in a 1.5 DIN package is Jensen and Audiovox. I strongly suggest you buy neither.

Just installed a Pioneer DEH-77DH 1.5 din unit today and am very pleased with it.Crutchfield.com has them for $299.They have extra pre outs and remote cd changer hookup, that is why they are a little pricier that the deh 45dh model.
Hey Jim85IROC,i want to thank you for suggesting boston accoustic 4x6 plates up front in earlier posts.I went and bought a pair and they are a %100 improvement over the 4x6 pioneer coaxles i had previous. The only problem was I needed to get a little creative with the dremmel to make em fit!

Yeah, they're a tight fit in the Pontiacs. Boston just discontinued thos speakers and I'm not happy about it. I have one pair left at work and I'm considering buying them myself just to put them on the "Future use" shelf.

Alpine 855 is what I have. I couldn't ask for anything better. Only wish it has aux input for my car mp3 computer/player. Oh well, just have to tap into the amps direct signal wire, not a problem.
