Bare-bones bass

Hey all, here's my challenge. Give me the smallest and least obtrusive way i can get some bass into my vert. I don't need anything earthshaking, just something so i can hear some good low frequencies.
The challenging part is this. I would prefer to lose no trunk space, it's cramped enough in a vert. My first idea would be under the back seat(s) It's been too cold to take 'em out to measure, but from memory it seems like i could get maybe an 8" or so in there. Small i know, but it would be better than nothing right. And what about under the front seats. Besides the obvious theft threat, could it work.
If i have to lose trunkspace, it has to be a minimum. Like a free air 10" sitting in there. Or an absolutely minuimum sized truck box.

So, which one of these sounds like my best bet. Or should i just abandon the sub idea altogether and get a great set of 6.5" full ranges and drive them with a great amp. I need to get the speakers (and an amp if you read my other post) anyway, but i wanted to buy them more for clarity than raw power handling and bass.

you can check my pictures on my site of my 92taconv I have 2 12's in the trunk. This would probally be a little much for you, I would say try a good bass tube from JL or something. You could mount it deep in the trunk and remove it easly if you needed the extra space. I just took my front seats out to be redone no space under there. The tube should give you enough to make you happy. http://sites.netscape.net/bulldogfrazier/stereo

Under the seats is totally out of the question. Not nearly enough room. I'm not a fan of free-air, but with a car with an actual trunk it will certainly be a better option than it would be in a coupe. A free-air sub would be the least obtrusive, but a single sub in a small box would give the best sound. Just don't expect miracles with the top down.

No doubt, a Bazzooka tube will give you justice. The only recomendation I'd make is replace the stock woofer. It can't really handle too much power. I put an MTX Thunder 3000 in, and I'm really satisfied. And that's with a cheap Power Acoustic amp.

What ever combo you do you should be able to get good bass top or down. Mine still thumbs pretty good with the top down.
