Who's the loudest?

Who has the most powerful system here?
What are you running?
How many watts?
How many dB?

With my old system- i hit 138.9 dB... Which is pretty impressive with a TEMPORARY Xtant Amp, it was only 600 watts- the 1000 watt amp that we installed burst into flames...
Anyways, i was a bit dissappointed with the results...
But now i'm running 1,200 watts- and I have the new hexagonal Xtant Subwoofers (x series), before i was running the old X-series.... Also i replaced my stock alternator with a 140 amp alt. b/c the stock one was murdered-- but even this 140 amp alt isn't powerful enough...

Anyways, lemme hear what you guys have..

I haven't been to a soundoff with my new setup, but I'd expect to be in the mid 140's

G92 ..xtant..im impressed. Your the first one ive seen on here mention xtant...id have it in my car if i could afford it. What kinda hu and speakers are you runnin. Do u have a cap in it?...I"m goin w/all eclipse in my camaro. My winter beater has a soundstream amp 400 watt i believe, w/2 eclipse 10's. Also, an eclipse hu, and coustic 6x9's . I believe whne they installed it it was pushin somehwere between 80 and 100 db..i fergot tho..and what scale was yers measured on..a, b, or c?..ther's 3 diff scales for measuring db. My camaro at the moment has an eclipse hu, eclipse 6x9's, and this summer will be seein 2 12's, 8700 series dvc's, runnin from an eclipse amp puttin out 620 watt, so they'll se 310 apiece roughly. Also i intend to put in a 1 fahrad cap to compliment my recently rewound alternator, its at 150 amps now. I"m hopin w/a lil dynomat and a good box i'll be pusin 145 w/this install.

I'm probably one of the few on here that hit the highest dB out of the least powerful system.

My stuff is in my sig, but not really detailed.

I have a JV El Kameleon CD HU. An Alpine 11 band EQ with HP/LP x-over, and sub level output. 1- Alpine 25/w x 4/chn. running front Alpine 4x6s and stock 6x9s. 1- RF Punch 100 pushin' 1 12" MTX Thunder3000 8 ohm sub, that's mounted on a plate in the rear well.

I hit 135.5 dB :sillylol: That was measured by an Audio Control SPL meter, with the mic at the standard IASCA location.

I was shocked, as well as my friend. He's got 2 10" Xplods in a 99 Elantra with an Xplod 75x2 amp running them. He hit 132.7. He was pissed!!!!! LMAO!!!

I think the loudest is that ORIONSPL guy. He's the one with 20 orion subs in his 91. Apparently he finally got it metered and he hit 164dB.

Mine's a bit more modest, but quite good for the subs I'm running. I hit 141.1 with the mic placed on the dash in accordance with IASCA rules. That's with a pair of Oz Audio 300L subs, which are definately NOT an SPL sub. I did this before the whole "burping" thing came about. I sustained that spl for about 15 seconds until I popped my 100 amp breaker. If I burped it and had a bigger alternator, I think I could easily get 145dB, which is pretty good for 2 old-assed 12" sound quality subs. But... I really don't care how loud it goes and I don't want to blow up my stuff, so it's not likely that I'll be metering it too often.

164 dB? thats nothin

K cobain, all the stuff i have is listed in my sig...
except for a stinger one farad cap, and a 140 amp alternator

Maybe i'll get compete soon b/c i have one of the loudest systems around, but its really meant for just listening to LOUD *** music on the street, not SPL competition.. hopefully i'll hit in the mid 140's tho...

later guys,
mike

Most "soundoffs" have an SPL contest where you pay your $15 and they meter you. If you get to an IASCA sponsored event, the numbers will be more meaningful because they have standards on how the mic needs to be placed, so you can get consistant results from one car to another, and from one show to another.

Here's a system that was on here awhile ago. It was Mike Harvey's:

//---begin post copy---//
This system is unbelieveably loud and hits so freaking hard that it can shoot out my heart out my a$$hole. They had the SPL mic there at the stereo shop at SPLed my car. You guys won't even believe what this monster hit at: 161.8 db. Here is the weirdest thing I gained 3db when the windows were down and the T-tops were off, that is really weird to me. Anyways when I clean up the car tomorrow I will take pictures of this monster system and post them on my web site and post a reply to this thread of the address so you guys can see this install. It is so sweet and awesome.
This is what was installed:
1) 2 Aura 4150Q 600watt RMS amps
2) Rockford Fosgate 500a4 amp
3) Rockford Fosgate Fanatic Q 5.25" component speakers
4) 4 Rockford Fosgate HE212 12" Subwoofers
5) 1 Fared Capacitor w/ voltage display
6) 1 Optima Yellow top dry cell battery
This system is just unreal. I love it to death and I can't wait to compete w/ it. Everyone in my area better watch out for me at the DB Drags & Sound Quality events. All the subs are firing downwards and yes I took out the rear seats. I can't wait to show you guys what it looks like. Later

- Mike Harvey -
//---end post copy---//

And this wasn't tuned for SPL:
"Thanx for the compliments bro. That system hits that hard when set up for sound quality. I can't imagine how hard it would hit when it is set up for db drag."

BTW: as I said, this was Mike Harvey's system, not mine.
