Cant get rid of engine noise in speakers

got the amp in ,hooked up and I have this engine whine in the speakers that changes with rpm.I have moved the ground 3 times, all in the cargo area, the latest being a screw threw the metal, cleaned to bare shiny metal.Im using 8 ga for ground and power and amp is 200 mounted to a box with 2 woofers.I have moved the rca cables all around and they are now on the seats running right down the middle of the car ,not near anything. The power cable was by the dist.so I moved that and no luck. This noise has not changed at all in moving the grounds which tells me its something else, maybe the amp?It is new.Sounds great except for this noise and when I turn the key on and off I hear a popping in the speakers.I also replaced the ground at the battery to the body.thanks

Use some muting plugs and plug them into the RCA inputs of your amps. Turn on your headlights, and start the car. Does the noise still exist?

If so, the problem is in the amp, speaker wires, or speakers.

If not, the problem is in the deck or the RCA cables.

the crossover gets wired between the source (radio) and the amp. when you have component speakers the crossover will be between the speaker and the (amp or radio) depending on your application. there are gadgets you can get to lower the whinning noice comming out of your speaker, but it might lower the sound quality. try wiring another amp in just to see if that is your problem (go to a stereo shop or a friend with a spare amp). if it is your amp then i would definitely recommend getting another (quality) brand amp. if your funds are low then try ebay. that's where i bought my (memphis) amps brand new.

See my reply on the amp grounding thread.

A "muting plug" is basically an RCA end with the tip and outside shorted together to form a loop.

You may be able to find a set of these at Radio shack, if not you can make your own from an old set of RCA's or a cheap set that you cut up.

ah...pyramid.So this thing is crap or what.
Pyramid is the benchmark by which all other crap is judged. You can use the muting plugs like GndPrx mentioned, and that will confirm that it's the amp. As usual, you get what you pay for. If you're on a budged, look at amps from companies like Pioneer, Kenwood, etc. The stuff is less expensive (and much less powerful) than Rockford and Kicker type stuff, but at least you're getting your money's worth!
