right rear speaker faint??????

i have the stock audio equipment.....my right rear 6x9 isnt working right.......if i turn the balnce and fade so only that speaker is on, i hear the music coming fro it, but not nearly as loud as it should. so whats the deal? the speaker doesnt look blown to me. is my deck bad or the speaker or wiring? and no, i am not planning to go blow some money on an aftermarket deck any time soon. thanks

Are you listening to all these from the driver's seat? Or did you climb in the back, and the right speaker sounds weaker than the left?

If you're listening to them all from the driver's seat, check the position of the passenger seat's head rest. If it's in the path between your right ear and the right rear speaker, it'll block the sound.

no no no....i mean like it is really faint.....i didnt think it was working at all until i put all the balance&fade on that speaker, and the sound was barely coming out of it. and no i have never changed any of the audio equip.......only added a 6disc changer, but that was a while ago, and i dont think the problem is associated with htat.

Re-check all your connections. If all check out simply switch with the other speaker and see waht happens.

My 83 firebird which is 100% stock has the exact same problem ever since it was new. However it only happens when the car gets warm. In winter it does not happen much.

Hey 83 S/E, those wheels are the ones that were on my car when I bought it! Did you know those are the Knight Rider wheels? Some internet site is selling them for $500 each! Of course, the guy before me ruined the hell out of 'em... all you need is the "bowling ball hubcaps" clipped on there, and you're set.

The speaker may be blown, check if it is, otherwise, just run another wire to that speaker from your deck, it only takes like 20 mins, and then you will know for sure that its not the wire that is the problem. Hell, you might as well run everything again, since you can buy speaker wire for like $10 for 50 ft.
