Most recent one when I finished making an air pan to seal up on the cowl hood. By this time next year I hope to have a different engine

A question for you guys with aluminum water pumps, I have an 83 L69, with just alternator and p/s. I need the pump with the tang (or boss) for the p/s pump. Any part numbers? Thanks.

Yeah, You need to move the cap on the dist.

I have the same dist and the 14x3 drop base. You need to move the cap so that the connections for the tach and power wire is closer to the wiper motor. This will pull the vaccum advance around also.

Everything should fit when you re-adjust the cap.

Why are you running heater hoses when you dont even have a heater box? Planning on reinstalling it?

I removed my heater box and didnt run heater hoses. My fuel line comes across from the drivers side and crosses in front of the carb.

Yeah, Im planning on one also.

If you cant re-route the fuel line or heater hoses, you may have to go to a smaller mallory dist.

If you had a cowl hood, you could use a spacer, but then you wouldnt have the problem with the drop base.

I removed mine and got a non AC heater box from a 1986 Chevy pickup. Then I cut it in half thru the middle of the narrow portion of the box, and widened it with aluminum sheet metal using epoxy and pop rivets. I then painted it flat black.

I explained to a friend of mine how I had made it in an email. He replied with a "that's got to look stupid", but when he came out to see the progress on the car, he didn't even notice it till I pointed out the heater box. He then was amazed at how nice it did turn out.

Turned out so well that he did not even realize that I had changed the heater box.

I had to use the blower from the truck too. I cut the rectangle hole for the resistor bigger to make it fit the factory 3rd gen resistor so I could retain my factory blower speed controls.

Got everything for free from a friend and put it together at work.

um im not sure if you can do this or not why not just take a power lear or make one off one of the power lines, and ground it to the frame somewhere and have a switch in your cockpit, turn it on when ever the car is on, turn it off when your not there etc...

yah, they flow decent with some P&P.. and the compression is nice with .020" shaved off. i still liked my double humps better though.

one of these days i'll go out and check the SCR, i haven't checked since i put these heads on...

So do you guys prefer those style of wire holders as opposed to something like mine has ?

i had the finger style like that at first, but i kept loosing the rubber pieces and the wires would end up getting cut..

of course with the ones i have now, i lost the screws for the wire clamps, and no OEM cut wires fit.. lol

*edit*

Here is a link to a better pic of mine.. they are the ones that AutoZone sells..

My old 305 as I don't have any pictures of the 350 yet. The little 305 managed to pull the brick to a 14.8 @ 97. The best the 350 has done is 14.8 @ 92. 305 did have a bigger cam and the same heads as the 350. The 305 had the higher powerband of the two.
