I can tell you that mine started running rich like that, only sometimes though and now its pretty much all the time so I figure its most likley my O2 sensor. My carb is brand new so I doubt thats it. I'm gonna buy a new one and see.

Do you still have a cat(s)? My car has no cats anymore, and smells a little gassy from behind, but mines in basically perfect tune... runs great, plugs look right, decent mileage, etc, but theres some gassy smell there.
Just the lack of cats will make your car smell like that because theres always unburned fuel that gets to the exhaust system. If theres no cats to burn it off, you will get that smell.
Some gassy smell is normal w/o cats, but if its a really intense 'experience' though... like burning your eyes when you stand near the car, then I would at least check the condition of the plugs to see how its running, and check the timing as well.

I have the timing at 14* per Edelbrocks recomendations, I just havent had a chance to play with that number yet because I have been planing to get a full MSD setup.
BTW, it's been throwing an SES light at me too, I havent polled the ECM for codes yet but I bet its O2.
