Will it work?

I have a 1406 600 cfm holley brand new 4 bbl carb and an edelbrock performer intake manifold. will it work on my stock 87 305 lg4? if so what will i need to make it work? Thanks guys in advanced.

I don't see why it shouldn't. If you are running a computer controlled car you will need to change the dizzy to a HEI set up I believe.

Also, 1406 is a edelbrock part#, you sure you don't mean 4160?

you'll have to change the dizzy out for the non-cc hei style, then the computer can go bye-bye.

you will also need to buy a TCC lockup kit from TCI so that the torque converter still locks up in OD.

the distributor.
your stock one is computer controlled, you need an old school springs&weights&vacuum advance style one.

Yer basic mechanical advance HEI distributor. A junkyard one, or a simple one by MSD or something will work.

yep, mine is an advance auto 1979 Chevy Monza w/ 305 replacement distributor, though an accel one through jegs is probably cheaper (comes with coil and stuff too...)
