Finished the winter carb project
What do you guys think?
355 with Edelbrock 750, rpm air gap, ARF 195's and lunati 60104 cam. I used the malory fpr with return line and the 255lph in tank pump that was already in the car. Seems to work ok.

I've been playing with the tune off and on when I have time. ... today was the first day I've had a chance to get into it. Was on the autobahn... goes from 70-120 mph in a blink. I'm still playing with the part throttle stuff... I have bog just off idle thats worse when its cold. I assume that its a little lean there. Need to take a look at the transisition slots and make sure they arent uncovered too much. Its acting a bit lean on cruise also.... prob just needs one stage richer on the jetting.

I'm pleased with the way the carb tunes... I've only done a little work with carbs in the past so this was fun to learn a little more about them. It turns out that the 750 edelbrock carb wasn't the best choice for my application though... my cam is a little big for it and the edelbrock guys said their 800cfm carb would have been a better choice. The 750 is set up for economy they said. Edelbrock suggesed their larger pump nozzle... I think part of the problem is the lean step on the jetting is too lean. It will be a month or so before I'll know... the car is being shipped and I'm heading back to the US tomorrow morning.

Thanks, it was a lot of work and I think the finial product was worth it. When I get some more time, I'm going to hide the washer fluid resevoir and catch can. To make room for the down pipes for the turbo project, I'm going to run a remote brake booster/master cylinder also. I had to kick myself, when I was bleeding the clutch I didnt realize I spilled some brake fluid and it ate the paint under the brake booster. I didnt have time to fix it before the car was shipped.
You know, it was pretty cool at first but after a while it just becomes normal. My job required lots of air travel and its a 100 or 120 mile trip to the air port... the trip usually takes just over an hour in a rental car like a volkswagon golf or ford focus. The suspensions on the cars over here are set up alot better for the speeds than american cars... If you drive a 3 series bmw or mercedes here, when traffic is light you can cruise at 120 with one hand on the wheel and drink your coffee with the other. I joke that I have as many miles at over 100mph as many race car drivers. Its going to kill me to drive in the states again, 75 mph, ug.
