Running Rich

I'm running rather rich, and my RPM's are seriously high at idle.
Should i down grade my injectors on the 4 barreled edelbrock 600cfm to get rid of the running rich, its not REAL bad, i can just smell it when i step out sometimes. and what do i do about the RPMs? its getting on my nerves when i let off the brake on gravel and spin out.

Re: Running Rich

sounds like you need to idle it down, the screw is on the front right side when looking at it from the front. should have to turn it to the left (counterclockwise) to idle down. set the car to your desired rpm and then check it while in drive, think i had mine set to 650 in drive. as for the running rich, when is it happening? light throttle (cruise) or wot?

Re: Running Rich

injectors? u must mean jets.. I would make sure that the idle screws are adjusted right. Set idle speed and adjust screws for best vacuum. Plug color will tell u if u are rich

Re: Running Rich

Make sure that the carb is not on fast idle or the choke is not coming on
There's a screw between the carb body and throttle lever on the right side of the carb turn it counter clockwise it should lower the idle . i like to set my at 900 to 1100 rpm's in gear depends on what the engine likes
