Fuel in oil
I'm having a problem with gas getting into my oil. I'm running a Quickfuel 650dp. The carb leaks enough gas to drain both bowls over a 24 hr period. I've replaced the metering block gaskets, the power valve and the plug gasket in the secondary bowl and it still leaks. I figured an easy fix would be to put a toggle switch on my electric pump and run it out of gas each time I shut it off for a long period of time, however I'm stilling getting gas in my oil. My oil level keeps rising. My fuel pressure is around 5-6psi and my bowls are about low-mid level on the sight plugs. Has anyone ever had a problem like this after converting to carb? For what its worth, it did the same thing with my old Holley 700dp I had on it before.

Yeah I have a ton of gas in my oil before. I did two things that corrected it but I'm not sure which actually did the trick. I changed my mechanical fuel pump because it could have been leaking gas and I changed my fuel filter and carburetor out for another quadrajet. One of these things did the trick.

Re: Fuel in oil
I dont have a mecahnical pump so I know that's not the issue. I'm completely baffled. I run the carb dry when I shut it off so fuel can't be running down when its sitting. The engine doesn't run rich while driving so I don't see how its getting an over abundant amount of gas while running around.

I have a QuickFuel 750 blowthru and it would do the same thing. Fuel bowls would fill up to the top and fuel would actually shoot from vent tubes. Adjusted floats levels and all is well. Not sure if thats your issue.

Nope fuel level stays at mid to bottom of the sight windows so it's not over filling.

manifold gaskets could be leaking down the runners and going right into the galley

Re: Fuel in oil
carb sits on top of the intake mixes the gas with the air in the intake then to the heads through the valves to the cylinder

Re: Fuel in oil
if the bowls aren't overfilling (like a few others have and myself have experienced), then you may need to take the carb off the intake and check for wet spots. something on that carb is leaking and its draining down into the intake.
