edelbrock 1405 quest

has anyone heard of putting a 1407 squirter (35) and the secondary air valve in a 1405 carb to help with a bog on instant mash of pedal? my 1405 has a 28 in it would just putting the 35 help?

Re: edelbrock 1405 quest

99.9% of the time with the webber/carter afb/edelbrock carbs the bog has NOTHING to do with the squirter size or air valve.

It's the step up springs, and pump linkage rod adjustment.

+1 I'm with knight rider 327,I have ran Edelbrock for years, step up springs or pump rod adjustment usually cures the bog situation.its worth investing in the calibration kit Edelbrock offers also download the owners manual for the carburetor if you have not done already. That is a big key to making the Edelbrock work

Re: edelbrock 1405 quest

If you have done the springs and accelerator pump holes there is also the possibility of timing,Edelbrock carburetors like to have timing.try to advance the timing to 8 degrees intial.you still may need more timing than that and may still have to play with the springs and pump slot.At this point I might play with my timing

I had a problem with the edelbrock and bog, till I leaned out the carb, for Colorado, and now no issue at all.
