Should I throw a hood bird on the red car?

I can get a tastefully done decal for 50-60 bucks. Might be better off spending that dough on the performance upgrades (like the new rear diff) but I'm thinking I should go all out on the logo.

Don't spare me your criticism/praise.

I think that's one thing that should remain for the second gens.

I'd go for a ram air hood. Then you have all the attention you need from the hood. But cost is always a factor. I'd do it for now and if it look crappy take it off. Also I'd get the 80-81 hood bird with more detail on the "feather part"

It would probably look ok. Not sure if it would really add anything to a 3rd/gen though, as hood birds have such a '70s vibe. Are there any pics of a 3/gen with one of these birds on it?

The thirdgen hoodbird is lame, the factory one at least.

The second gen hoodbirrs rock forever more lol

Get shaker on there and go to town. By itself its not the greatest looking though :-(

Course when I turbocharge my Formula I am so dying to put a shaker scoop on with a hoodbird w/ the Formula hood lol(think that will sucker people once its a 10 or 11 sec ride?)

later

I'm gonna do it sometime this summer I think. If it sucks, I'll pull it off and besides, I'll be wanting a better paint job in the future anyway.

Call it a fad.

Thanks gentlemen (and Camaro drivers).

the rule i usse.. is if you like it go for it.. however know that not everyone will like it and thus you may be critisized for it.... but its your car.. no one can tell you whats right or wrong on it.

That second picture is more what mine would look like in the end. I don't have the vented hood though. My hood is quite plain. I like the paddle rear view mirrors on that '91.

Thanks for posting that. I think I focus on a new hood instead. I have my logo in place already:

I sure would like a power bulge hood now.

I dunno, kinda works for me. At least on the silver and black cars posted above. The gold bird on red would probably look good too, especially with the gold wheels/tan top combo. Like it or not, these 'Birds got a poultry thing goin' on!

****-a-doodle-doo!

I'm still split. Money would be better spent on my chassis and drivetrain but if I find a decal on eBay for a bargain, I could find myself being impulsive.

Check out my first Firebird Mike.
I was considering doing the same for the GTA too.

Don't do it, the only thing that really looks good is the LT-1 style ram air hood.
Anything else is crap. I've only seen a few 3rdgens where the chicken looks good, and a 91/92 convertible wouldn't be one.

Get a bulge hood .And then get some bulge hood decals.

I think hood birds on 3rd gens look best on the 82-84 style.Because at least 82-84 birds have 2nd gen characteristics.85+ birds with hood birds look funny to me.
