Not enough cold air AC

My Ac was reapired by a certified technitian. The air comming out the vents is cold but I can barely feel it. The technitian installed a new air blower, but the new one blow less air than the old one. The max setting feels like my 97 corolla's mid setting. Here in South Florida its un acceptable. WHat are my alternatives? I want the AC to actualy cool me and my family, not just the steering wheel!!!!!
Another thing, The technitian tried about five different blowers because they wont fit in the car, even with factory air!!!!!

If took it to a shop and they didnt fix it right take it back there. You paid to have them fix it and they didnt. As far as the blowers not fitting right, they might not have gotten the right parts. That could be causing the low airflow. It could also be an electrical problem.

3rd gen heater/AC blowers never did perform well, even new. It's a poor design and an inadquate blower motor. Blame GM not the repair shop.

In stock form your thirdgen AC system won't perform as well as a newer car, such as your '97. Assuming the vent temp is less than 50-degrees, the stock blower motor although a weak design compared to most newer cars, is sufficient to eventually cool the whole car, especially on "MAX" mode which recirculates the air instead of bringing in fresh air.

Short of bolting on a roof-mounted refigeration unit, it's possible some of the AC experts here might have some helpful mods...

The blower is new and, for some reason, the ones sent as "factory replacement" did not fit, even the one we got from a GM dealer. So the tech kept trying until finding one that fit.

As far as the air comming out of the vents, if I go for a ride with my family, the little cold air wont be enough for a comfortable ride for all of us. Here in south florida temp reached more than 90 more than 3 month ago.

I find it hard to believe that mt TA when, brand new, would not be a confortable cool ride. GM had have to fix this problem long time ago. I have riden in new GM (Tahoe) when the outside temp was more than 90, we did not have the ac in "max" becacuse it was too cold, even with 8 people in the vehicle.

The '91 blown Buick Park Avenue I had would get cold enough to push everyone in the car into a coma, even on a hot humid day here in the islands. Neither of my Thirdgens will do that, even though they have new AC everythings.

If frigid AC is your first priority you'll need to either spend a bundle at a customer AC installer or drive your family around in a different car. I recommend contacting a Thirdgen AC specialist or custom installer, rather than a general service AC shop.

I recently replaced the blower motor in my 85 IROC, purchased from CarQuest (P/N HTR 209030) for $26.30. I did the replacement: The part fit perfectly. I'm getting at least twice the air flow as I did before--shoot, the old motor was some 18 or 19 years old.

Make sure you evap isnt freezing up due to a plugged drain. There should be water under the car when the ac is on. Your evap may also be blocked by leaves ect.
