Anyone with a Summit Racing Radiator?
Anyone with a Summit Racing Radiator?
Just wanted to know who is running the 31x19 Summit
Racing brand Radiator. I had installed one in my car. It
it not a direct fit, however. It requires some hammer
banging on the sides of the body. Can not use the stock
rubber mounts, upper or lower. Radiator support also
needs some modifying. After that, the thing fits in well.
But the side tanks do touch the body of the car. It does
not move however. I shake the radiator and the whole
car shakes with it. So, since it fits very snug, does it matter
if I don't have any space between the sides? I have space
between the condensor and radiator, as those rubber spacers
are still there.

The Be-Cool IS a direct fit. Bought it 'cause I didn't want to f*ck with it, and wanted to fix my cooling problem. And it worked.

Well, there are two Be cool Radiators. The 31x19 and the direct fit. I purchased the direct fit as well. It's worth the extra money to not have to worry about it like barry85iroc said.
Hammering on a radiator may not be conducive to proper cooling either
lol

lol Well, both of you guys are not understanding me!
I had to hammer on the sides of the BODY of the vehicle.
Not the radiator. The radiator is aluminum. So, hammering
on it will make holes very easiely! PLEASE READ more carefully
next time. lol
And again, I am are NOT talking about the Be Cool direct
fit ones either! I am talking about the SUMMIT RACING
RADIATOR only. PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE USED
the SUMMIT RACING RADIATOR ,thanks.
And I don't think that it is worth $550 for a direct fit one
either. Mine is only $185 and only needed to modify the
radiator support and modify the sides of the body of the
vehicle to make it fit. It actually looks like it was meant to be
there. Nothing looks hacked up either.
SO far NO ONE has answered any of my questions.

The reason it was brought up is the Summit racing one I believe is the becool one. You also mentioned there being spaces, no way of mounting just using body pressure to hold it in, so by saying now that you cant tell is contradicting yourself. Now the direct fit one you wont be able to tell.

IE Direct fit is Direct fit, the other one has to be HAMMERED in lol He said he had to hammer it in and it sticks out (which the 31x19's do) Yet in another post he said you cant tell. Don't know aobut you but I can tell when someone has tried to take and put a square peg in a round hole with a hammer

I'm considering an aftermarket aluminum radiator for my other project car (g-body) because it is the same price as the stock replacement radiator, and I have to buy one or the other.
