I am getting a brand new big *** fan instead of the stock one. I'll post some numbers and how it does.
Its one of those Hayden fans that is intended for 368-450 ci engines. I'll use it as my primary and see how it cools everything down.
Here its almost 100 degrees and even my brand new cooling system goes up to 200 because of the lack of grille and, as I belive, inadequate fan.
I'll post results.

Hayden's biggest, baddest fan only pulls 1300 across a radiator,
1500 free......if you get the Hayden duals, they pull 1600 free,
but that still not very powerful. I sell Hayden, and I get a great
discount on them, but I'd be damned if I'd buy one. Go with a
Flex-a-lite, Spal, Be-Cool, etc....watch how much air they move.
They cost more, but they are quieter and move almost double the
air.

Spal gets my vote, but I agree on the name brand aftermarket suggestion. I got mine as a NASCAR take-off on eBay for about 50 shipped. Though used, the motor still hasn't gone south on me.

Hey, do you guys use the pusher and puller combo?
How does it work?
I am thinking about one!
Today I went over 220 racing a stupid as5 friend of mine in a chevy colorado. I smoked him bad, and I took him so bad, but my heat went up to 200 on the coolant, and over 220 on the heads. It was 100 degrees here, but if I had some descent fans it would work even better, I think.
The pusher and puller are the only things that I havent tried on my cooling system.

I belive somewhere around 1000cfm's. Which would, somewhat, justify the purchase of haydens.
Now that I think about it, I dont like Hydens, cuz he ruined starwars.
Perma cool pulls up to 2950cfm's with their 16 inch fan for 100 bucks. It sound good to me.

Yeah, I'd definitely go with the Perma-Cool over the Haydens.
I think I read somewhere on a fan comparison that the o.e. fans
pulled about 700

I'm using two 12" high-po permacool fans. If their rated correctly that's 1650 CFM each, so 3300 CFM total. Those are my pullers. Upfront I'm running a 10" permacool (~900 cfm corrected pusher) on my transmission cooler. When the car is at a dead stop idling and I turn the fans on I still feel air movement all the way back by the driverside rocker still. Course I dropped around $240+ bucks on fans too so that may not be for everyone.

If you're getting to 220 when driving then you have some other problems. I'm in Dallas and it's 100 degrees out when I drive and only if I sit in traffic and am not moving does it get to 220. And the only not original part in the cooling system is the thermostat.

My car has the warm up in traffic proble, its great as long as Im moving though. I think a new set of fans may be my best bet then since they can pull more air sitting still, maybe even a better slowing pump as well.
