Should I go ahead and replace accumulator and orifice tube?

Should I go ahead and replace accumulator and orifice tube?
I am finally getting close to getting the A/C system straightened out on my 88 camaro. After the original owner gutted the A/C system in my car, I installed a unit from a wrecked 90 RS camaro that I had. From what I can tell the system has never been opened and it does not leak.
Currently the A/C doesnt work as it should and I plan on having the existing r-12 reclaimed, pull a vac, and recharge with R12. I spoke with a local mechanic and he recommended going ahead and replacing the accumulator and orifice tube since they were cheap.
What do yall think? I will already have it evacuated so it wouldnt be hard for me to change out. I just dont want to possibly cause a future leak.

i'd agree with the mechanic. there's a slight chance stuff could have gotten into them and its just cheap and easy insurance. rather spend a couple bucks now than regret the big bill later!

Thats what I was thinking. I can get AcDelco from Rockauto. $20 for accumulator $2 for orifice tube.
Rockauto lists 2 accumulators from AcDelco. One shows #151605 the other #151883 I wonder what the difference is.
Is there anything else I should go ahead and get or replace?

He he right. You should also replace all the Orings. Better to do it rigth once, than having to do it twice.

What about the inline filter? Should that be replaced? Im just going off parts Rockauto sells.

If there is one yes.......replace it. My 84 system did not have seperate inline filter.

thanks for the info.
I went ahead and ordered the one listed as OEM. I will post up which ends it has. I already have the conversion R12 to R134a ports if I need them. Im still running R12, but the 134a ports are much easier to work on. (im not selling the car so I dont ever have to worry about future owners so I dont really care. I will remember)
