I'm doing a Supercharged LS3 build on an 88 Vert through Hawks and had to come up with a solution to avoid heat soak. I decided to create these and when I saw how freakin' awesome they were, wanted to offer them to everyone! Functional Aluminum Hood Louvers made specifically for 3rd Gen's - FINALLY!!. Please check out www.camarolouvers.com for lots of pics and info.
Those look cool, but I can't imagine the kind of water they'd let in if you get stuck out in the rain.
I figure if your moving, very little, if your parked just put some plastic over them. Water sprays all over engines when you drive in the rain and pressure washing your engine is like driving through Hurricane Katrina with your hood off IMHO
Biggest risk for water problems is the distributor, but the louvres would be well clear of this.
I'll get a set of these and send them off with the next batch of powder coating for my project. Would be great of someone else would post installation pics of these louvres.

Hawks Third Gen is installing them in my hood this week. I'll post some pics here and all pics I receive on www.camarolouvers.com 30 seconds later. There should also be pics of the installation process as well.
Thanks for your interest!
PS - I have flat rate shipping for North America set at $25. If they're going to Melbourne, please email in the website for a shipping quote. Thanks
I wonder if a template would be a good idea as part of the purchase?

The flat sets can be placed on the hood (prior to being built) and a line drawn between the frame and the louver blade. Then just cut 1/8" out from the line and the cut will be hidden from view (covered by the frame). I plan on including a cardboard template with the completed sets.
Thanks
Hi Everyone, As promised - I now have many installed pictures of our Functional IROC Hood Louvers up on our website www.camarolouvers.com . Check out the home page as well as the Gallery + Louvers to see what the Textured AggressiveSet looks like installed on the hood of my 1988 Convertible. We used silver screws (on a few pics) to mount them on purpose so you can easily see the mounting points. The end result (after my hood is painted) will include black allen bolts. You can see that they're not very noticeable - even in silver. One pic shows no screws on the left one so you can get an idea of what they would look like if you rivet them on instead. The Low Profile Smooth Set pics should be up tomorrow.
The hood was cut with a ziz wheel/cut-off wheel. I would recommend using some touch-up paint to seal the cut edge.
I know this is an old thread but I just wanted all to know that he's made another batch and has them for sale if you didn't pull the trigger last time. http://www.camarolouvers.com/
