For those in need of Eprom Erasers

Just thought I would give a heads up on this board about the eprom erasers. On the tech article it states that the eprom eraser is available through digikey, but unfortunately they stopped carrying from that particular dealer and the only erasers they carry are $95 and higher in price. However there is another company that started carrying Eprom erasers at a decent price of $49. The website follows:

http://www.ldti.com/UV-eraser-wtimer.htm

If the website still says "comming soon" just give them a call and they will get you one. They have not updated there website yet because the new erasers just came in yesterday(4-1-2003). They also have a battery powered UV eraser for around the same price.

Just thought this information might be useful to others.

For the price of an eraser and extra chips you're almost better off going with the flash prom adaptors. It saves a LOT of busy work.

Try this:
http://www.thebytefactory.com/pr_d-erase.asp

This apparently replaces the Datarase II ACT UV eraser, which I bought from these people. Works great, but apparently this is the replacement.

good stuff, I was having this very delima
I'm not clear on the adapter, would this 'adapter' actually plug in place off my 2732A chip in my ECM and allow me to us 27C256 chips in my ecm?

Yup. 8 calibrations you can switch between. Just disable the checksum and you're good to go. There is software to combine the 8 bin files but I like to use the dos batch command copy\b a1.bin+a2.bin....=all8.bin

I guess your talking about the G2 @
http://moates.net/gmecm/hworder.html

does that actually fit inside the ecm? looks to big, or is it that the 27256 chips are smaller than the 2732A and this adapter is the size of a 2732A?
