I need a 7749 ECU File & a Bin
I'm going to be running and ATI ProCharger on my GTA and I'm going to be swapping in the 749 ECM from a Typhoon. I need to get ahold of a 7749.ecu file from somewhere and hopefully a Bin I can use as a base from someone with a SC'd 90-92 TPI with an auto tranny, a 305 with some mods and 9#'s would be perfect
I'll be using Mangus's GM ECM Edit v2.01:hail:
I've also just heard that this setup has some problems with the EGR, CCP, and Air injection working correctly with the 749 bin on an 8 cyl. Has anyone worked that out with an updated bin? I need to be CA compliant...
Thanks!
Alex

Only the EGR has problems when used on a V8. My understanding is the formulas generate faulty numbers when the cylinders is set to 8.
Neither the Turbo Sunbird or SyTy use CPP or Air Injection from what I can tell from the wiring diagrams for both.
Now this doesn't mean you can't leave them intact but disconnected at the ECM... but I know the testing gestapo are in Cali.. all I have here is a sniffer test @20 mph. And even that is for selected counties.. (a load of carp).
a ecu might be found on the diy-efi.org ftp site or Promgrammer was written for $58 code by Bill Cagano. See www.syty.net

Thanks, I just found and file called 749.ecu in the ftp for diy-efi.org however it's only a 7KB file size
My 730.ecu file is like 51KB, what's up with the other only being 7KB???
I also came up with a factory bin for a Syclone and I also found the bin that bort62 used in the car on his 749 swap page, it's nearly identicle to mine down to injector size and #'s they are blowing but it's a L98 although it should be a good starting point for me.
I wish there was a way to combine the bin from an SD auto LB9 with the Syclone bin to get what I need in terms of the EGR, CCP, and Air all working but I wouldn't even know where to begin such a project or even if you can do something like that

However that takes time and effort, but not impossible.

1) gather up all the .ecu files and comment hacs, you can find, and read programming 101. The sit down and start reading thru things until some of it makes sense, asking guestions along the way. Then you can expand the .ecu file to include whatever parameters you want.
2) go to www.tunercat.com , and order the .tdf files for the 8D and 58 ecm masks along with the editor software.
Thanks guys! That's awesome news that atleast it can be done. I'm still a novice at this stuff so it will be a few month until I'm at the level I can do it but I'm determined to be able to
Reading through some old posts on the 749 ECM I read that TunerCat has some problems showing the real limits of some of the variables in the $58. Is this true? Also do I have to use TunerCat to do what I am looking to do or can I just use Mangus's GM ECM Edit v2.01? I've already read burning 101 and I am familiar with all of the hardware and software. I've only been using WinBin and GM ECM Edit though.

Also the inj constant is misleading in the Tunercat .tdf, since it's BPC in the EGR section that set's the injector size.
