mil light flashing after i tried to read prom

so i took the prom out of my car yesterday. im just trying to get into chip burning. i put it into my pocket pro, couldent figure out how to get the bin onto my computer, and save it. but when i put it back into my car it dosent run right anymore. it is missing like heck, and the mil light is flashing really fast. does anyone know what this means.

if anyone could also tell me how to use the pocket programmer i would appretiat it.

Thank You
Walter

Did you seat the prom fully in its socket?

Have you tried reading the codes that might be stored in the computer?

i had the scan tool hooked up to it a couple days ago and there were no codes, but it just got screwed up after i took the chip out.

Flashing SES light is a Prom error. So, either something happened to the chip while it was out and it got erased or its not seating properly. I'd triple check how its seated in there. I've had way too much experience with this lately myself, it's no fun.

Itll be hard to get anything out of the computer with a checksum/read error. Its basically just resetting over and over again untill A: hell freezes over, or B: It finally can read teh prom and it gets the right checksum.

As for reading the chip, open your pocket programmer software and select the chip you have, which is the 2732. Click the 'move device' button to move the chip's contents into the buffer. After that, click the 'save buffer' button and select where you want to save the image of the prom.

thanks for all the advice. one more question. were can you buy new proms, would an electronics store have them. After fiddeling with the prom a million times one of the fingers broke off. But Brian from tbichips sent me the bin so i just need to find a place to buy proms from and i think i might be able to get it solved.
