new to prom burning and having issues getting a good tune (355 tpi)

Im running the Moates burn 2 as well as the Moates adapter and using tunerpro RT. I cant seem to get this thing to idle very well at all and its running pig rich according to my wideband gauge. Im using the arap.bin along with the 6E def. It will start up pretty quick and then bog down like its going to die and sometimes does then it will catch and rev up to 1400 rpms and stay there with the check engine light on and 12:1 afr. Ive been playing around with maf table 1 trying to either lean it out or richen it up with no success. The only way that it actually runs decent and has no check engine light is if i plug the tune in from my previous modded 305 (tpis mail order tune). It will idle at 19:1 afr but idles pretty smooth with no check engine light and i give it the slightest amount of gas and it goes into the 14-13 afr range. Here are the specs of the motor.

355 sbc
Dart pro one aluminum heads (200cc intake 64 cc chambers)
XFI 268 cam (flat tappet so 515/520 lift)
Arizona speed and marine runners
ported plenum
Edelbrock lower base
24# accel injectors
TPIS adjustable fuel pressure regulator
TPIS EGR blockoff
edelbrock headers
1.6 roller rockers

I heard somewhere that widebands are not all that good at judging how a cam'd motor is running at idle because of the overlap or scavenging so maybe my afr at idle with the tpis chip isnt all that bad afterall? i just dont know.

With a cam, the idle will appear to be lean due to the extra O2 making it in. You sort of have to tune it the old way by how it idles, and what the plugs look like. If its got a cam, and its showing 12.1 at idle, its probably pig rich.

Interesting. I may just run it with the TPIS chip since it seemed like it was pretty happy with it. I will tune it more later on since i have the equipment now but not the knowhow...yet

i assume that the MAF code has 3 or so tables labeled "O2 reference low, O2 reference high and closed loop threshold"? or at least something similar.

the purpose of them is to adjust the real-world O2 mV signal to stoich based on airflow, correct? should be able to play with those values and allow for closed loop at idle without any other tricks.

Bringing this back from the dead. I have finally gotten other areas of the car sorted out enough to focus for awhile on tuning again. I have a laptop all set to go but am having some difficultly trying to figure out what sections of the tune i need to modify in order to just get it to idle for now. I checked for the above mentioned sections and didnt see any that i should be modifying (unless i missed them). Ive done as much reading on tuning as i can really do and its time for me to start playing but im still a ways off from understanding it all.

268 XFI flat tappet is 224/231 @.05 with 113 LSA

That is not really that big to cause any CL idle issues with WB or NB02 sensor is it?

Does 6E allow OL idle?

Just big enough its 515/520 lift if i remember right. It will idle but it will idle at 1400 like the choke is on in an old carb'd car and it will throw a check engine light. I have a WB and it was reading 10.2-12 something when i tried it last. With the TPIS chip idle is actually pretty decent at around 18-19 afr.

I dont believe so. Id actually have to run that burn again to find out. I did delete the EGR and deleted it in the tune as well.

The reason I ask is I had a maf tpi engine I tuned That hit the 33 threshold and went right into lhm. I had too correct this before I made any other changes too the tune.
